1. Product Overview

The JESLED 4ft T8 LED tubes are designed as a versatile and energy-efficient replacement for traditional 4ft T8, T10, and T12 fluorescent tubes. These hybrid LED tubes support two installation methods: Plug & Play (compatible with existing ballasts) and Direct Wire (ballast bypass). Each 18W tube delivers 2400 lumens of bright 5000K daylight white light, offering significant energy savings compared to conventional fluorescent lighting. Constructed with high-clarity borosilicate glass, these bulbs ensure superior light diffusion, resistance to yellowing, and a long operational lifespan.

2. Safety Information

• Power Disconnection: Always turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before attempting any installation, removal, or maintenance. Failure to do so may result in electric shock or injury.
• Qualified Personnel: If you are unsure about any part of the installation process, consult a qualified electrician.
• Product Modification: Do not attempt to modify the LED tubes or the fixture wiring beyond the instructions provided. Unauthorized modifications can lead to safety hazards and void the warranty.
• Handling: These LED tubes are made with glass. Handle them with care to prevent breakage. Do not drop or apply excessive force.
• Operating Environment: Ensure the operating environment is within the specified temperature and humidity ranges. Do not use in enclosed fixtures unless specified as suitable.
• Disposal: Dispose of old fluorescent tubes and packaging materials according to local regulations.

5. Installation Instructions

JESLED 4FT T8 LED tubes offer two installation methods: Type A (Plug & Play with ballast) and Type B (Ballast Bypass/Direct Wire). Always ensure the power is OFF at the circuit breaker before beginning installation.

5.1. Type A Installation (Plug & Play with Ballast)

This method allows for a quick and tool-free upgrade by utilizing your existing fluorescent fixture's ballast.

1. Turn Off Power: Ensure the power to the fixture is completely OFF at the circuit breaker.
2. Remove Old Tube: Carefully remove the existing fluorescent tube from the fixture.
3. Insert LED Tube: Insert the JESLED LED tube into the fixture's sockets. Rotate the tube until it locks securely into place.
4. Restore Power: Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker. The LED tube should illuminate instantly.

Important: For Type A installation, verify your existing ballast is compatible. Refer to the ballast compatibility list provided in Image 4. Using an incompatible ballast may cause damage or improper operation.

5.2. Type B Installation (Ballast Bypass / Direct Wire)

This method involves bypassing or removing the existing ballast and directly wiring the LED tube to the main power supply. This eliminates ballast-related issues and further increases energy efficiency. This installation requires basic electrical knowledge.

1. Turn Off Power: Ensure the power to the fixture is completely OFF at the circuit breaker.
2. Remove Old Tube and Ballast: Carefully remove the existing fluorescent tube. Open the fixture and disconnect the wiring from the ballast. Remove the ballast.
3. Rewire Fixture: Connect the fixture's lamp holders directly to the main power supply. These tubes support both single-end and double-end powered fixtures.
   • Single-End Powered: Connect the live (L) and neutral (N) wires to the pins on one end of the fixture's lamp holder. The other end's lamp holder will not be wired.
   • Double-End Powered: Connect the live (L) wire to the pins on one end of the fixture's lamp holder and the neutral (N) wire to the pins on the other end's lamp holder.
4. Insert LED Tube: Insert the JESLED LED tube into the rewired fixture's sockets. Rotate the tube until it locks securely into place.
5. Restore Power: Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker. The LED tube should illuminate instantly.

Warning: Type A+B hybrid tubes can be installed with or without ballasts, using single-end or double-end connections. For ballast-equipped fixtures, check our compatibility list.

6. Operating Instructions

Once the JESLED 4FT T8 LED tubes are correctly installed and power is restored to the fixture, the lights will illuminate instantly when the wall switch or power source is activated. There is no warm-up period required.

• On/Off: Use the standard wall switch connected to your lighting fixture to turn the lights on or off.
• Directional Light: Note that these LED tubes are directional, meaning the light emits primarily from one side. Ensure the tube is rotated in the fixture to direct light as desired.

JESLED 4FT T8 LED tubes are designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation.

• Cleaning: To clean the surface of the LED tubes, ensure the power is off and the tubes are cool. Use a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the tube's surface.
• Replacement: With an average lifespan of 50,000 hours, frequent replacement is not anticipated. If a tube needs replacement, follow the installation instructions (Section 5) in reverse to remove the old tube, and then install a new one. Always disconnect power before replacing.
