4. Setup Guide

4.1. Initial Setup and Component Connection

Before operating your ATOMSTACK P1, ensure all components are correctly connected and the machine is powered on.

• Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the power cord, then plug the power cord into the machine's input port.
• USB Key: Insert the USB key into the designated USB Key port. The machine will not operate without the USB key.
• USB Drive: Insert the USB drive into the USB Drive port. This drive contains essential software and configuration files.
• Power On: Press the power switch to turn on the machine. The status light will turn green, and you will hear a beep, indicating the machine is ready.

4.2. Replacing the Laser Module

The ATOMSTACK P1 supports interchangeable laser modules. Follow these steps to replace the laser module:

• Remove the bottom plate of the machine.
• Carefully tilt the machine onto its side.
• Loosen the knob securing the current laser module.
• Slide out the old laser module and unplug its cable.
• Plug in the cable to the new laser module.
• Slide the new laser module into place.
• Tighten the knob to secure the new module.
• Reattach the bottom plate.

4.3. Connecting to Software (AtomStack Studio / LightBurn)

The ATOMSTACK P1 can be connected to your computer using AtomStack Studio or LightBurn software.

• Connect the P1 to your computer using the provided USB data cable.
• Open AtomStack Studio software (download from www.atomstack.com).
• In AtomStack Studio, click "Add Device" and follow the on-screen prompts to connect.
• For LightBurn (purchased separately), insert the included USB drive into your computer. Open LightBurn, go to "Device," and import the configuration file from the USB drive. The software will indicate "Ready" upon successful connection.

4.4. Connecting to Mobile App (Hotspot / Wi-Fi)

The ATOMSTACK P1 can also be controlled via the AtomStack App on your mobile device. Ensure Bluetooth and Local Network permissions are enabled for the app.

• For Mobile Hotspot Connection (no Wi-Fi environment):
  1. Ensure the USB drive and USB key are plugged into the machine.
  2. Turn on your phone's personal hotspot. For iOS, enable "Maximize Compatibility." For Android, ensure hotspot is set to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
  3. Open the AtomStack App and tap "Add Device."
  4. Power on the P1. Press and hold the "Start/Pause" button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep and the Wi-Fi light blinks.
  5. Select the device starting with "P1" from nearby devices.
  6. Choose "Use mobile hotspot for Wi-Fi connection."
  7. Enter your phone's hotspot name and password (case-sensitive).
  8. Tap "Next" to complete setup. A beep and green Wi-Fi light indicate successful connection.
• For Wi-Fi Connection (stable Wi-Fi network, 2.4GHz only):
  1. Ensure the USB drive and USB key are plugged into the machine.
  2. Open the AtomStack App and tap "Add Device."
  3. Power on the P1. Press and hold the "Start/Pause" button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep and the Wi-Fi light blinks.
  4. Select the device starting with "P1" from nearby devices.
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi network name and password.
  6. Tap "Next" to complete setup. A beep and green Wi-Fi light indicate successful connection.
• Connecting Phone to P1's Hotspot (for environments without Wi-Fi, no internet access on phone while connected):
  1. Ensure the USB drive and USB key are plugged into the machine.
  2. Open the AtomStack App and tap "Add Device."
  3. Power on the P1. Press and hold the "Start/Pause" button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep and the Wi-Fi light blinks.
  4. Select the P1 model.
  5. Choose "Hotspot connection."
  6. Go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings, select the network starting with "P1," and enter the password (usually "12345678").
  7. Return to the app. Tap "Complete" to finish the connection.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Engraving with R6 Rotary Roller

The R6 Rotary Roller is ideal for engraving cylindrical objects like tumblers or pens. Ensure the high feet are installed on the P1 to accommodate the roller.

• Install the high feet on the P1 machine.
• Connect the R6 Rotary Roller to the P1 using a USB cable.
• Open AtomStack Studio and enable rotary mode.
• Place the cylindrical item onto the R6 Rotary Roller.
• Focus the laser module as usual.
• In the software, select your design or import a file.
• Choose the material; the software will load recommended settings.
• Click "Frame" to preview the engraving position.
• Once ready, start engraving.

5.2. Adjusting the R6 Roller Gap for Thinner Items

For very small or thin cylindrical items, adjusting the roller gap ensures stability and prevents slipping during engraving.

• Remove the screws from the bottom of the R6 Rotary Roller.
• Adjust the position of the rollers to create a smaller gap.
• Re-secure the screws.
• Place the thin item on the adjusted roller.
• If the focusing stick is too far from the item, place a spacer (e.g., a small block of wood) under the roller to raise it.
• Refocus the laser and adjust its position as needed.

5.3. Engraving with R8 Rotary Chuck

The R8 Rotary Chuck is designed for engraving rings and other small, irregular cylindrical objects. Ensure the high feet are installed on the P1 to accommodate the chuck.

• Install the high feet on the P1 machine.
• Measure the circumference or diameter of your object (e.g., a ring or tumbler).
• Mount the chuck onto the R8 Rotary Chuck base.
• For irregular cylindrical objects like tumblers with handles, it is recommended to remove the handle to help keep the object level during engraving.
• Adjust the chuck opening to match the size of your object's opening.
• Place the object into the chuck and adjust the opening until it holds firmly.
• Focus the laser on the surface of the object. If the focusing stick is too far, place a spacer under the chuck to raise it, then refocus and adjust position.
• Connect the R8 Rotary Chuck to the P1 using a USB cable.
• Open AtomStack Studio and enter the object's diameter or circumference in the cylindrical settings. Enable "Mirror Output" if the chuck was installed in reverse.
• Adjust the design size, rotation, and engraving mode in the software.
• Select the material; the software will load recommended settings.
• Click "Frame" to preview the engraving position.
• Once ready, start engraving.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ATOMSTACK P1.

• Cleaning: Use a lint-free cloth to gently clean the laser lens and the interior of the machine. Ensure the machine is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
