2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the device:
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and gloves, when handling refrigerants.
- Ensure proper ventilation when working with refrigerants.
- The battery compartment is secured with screws to prevent accidental access by children. Do not attempt to force open the compartment.
- Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, moisture, or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
- Refer to local regulations for proper handling and disposal of refrigerants.
3. Product Overview
3.1 Components
The DUOYI DY519 digital manifold gauge consists of the main unit with an LCD display, control buttons, and a manifold block with 1/4" SAE compatible inlets/outlets. It features an ergonomic non-slip grip and a shockproof casing for durability.
- Main Unit: Houses the digital display and control buttons.
- Manifold Block: Connects to refrigerant hoses (hoses not included).
- Hook: For hanging the unit during use.
- Refrigerant Observation Window: Allows visual inspection of refrigerant flow.
3.2 Display and Controls
The device features a clear, backlit LCD screen for easy reading in various lighting conditions. The display shows refrigerant type, pressure, and evaporation/condensation temperature. Control buttons allow for function selection, unit conversion, and pressure zeroing.

- User Manual
Note: 2 x AA batteries and refrigerant hoses are not included and must be purchased separately.
4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
- Using a small screwdriver, carefully remove the screws securing the battery cover.
- Insert two (2) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screws.
4.2 Connecting Hoses
The DY519 is compatible with standard 1/4" SAE quick-connect fittings. Connect your refrigerant hoses to the appropriate inlets on the manifold block. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
Press any button to power on the device. To power off, press and hold the "FN" button for 2 seconds. The device features an auto-off function to conserve battery life.
5.2 Refrigerant Selection
The DY519 comes preloaded with specifications for 24 common refrigerants, including R22, R410A, R32, R134A, R1234yf, and more. Use the "FN" button to cycle through the available refrigerants until the desired type is displayed.

Figure 5.1: The DY519 supports 24 types of refrigerants, including R123, R134A, R22, R410A, and R32.
5.3 Pressure and Temperature Units
Press the "UNIT" button to cycle through pressure units (kPa, Mbar, bar, inHg, PSI, Kgf/cm²) and the "°C/°F" button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit for temperature readings.
5.4 Pressure Zeroing
Before taking measurements, ensure the device is properly zeroed. Disconnect all hoses from the system and press the "ZERO" button to calibrate the pressure reading to zero.
5.5 Refrigerant Charging
- Connect the DY519 to the HVAC system's low-pressure and high-pressure ports using appropriate hoses.
- Select the correct refrigerant type on the device.
- Monitor the pressure readings on the display while adding refrigerant to the system. Follow the manufacturer's specifications for the correct charge amount.
5.6 Vacuum Testing
- Connect the DY519 to the system and evacuate the system using a vacuum pump.
- Monitor the vacuum reading on the display. The device provides accurate vacuum measurements.
- Once the desired vacuum level is reached, close the valves and observe the reading for any rise, which would indicate a leak.
5.7 Leak Detection
The DY519 can assist in leak detection by monitoring pressure changes over time. After charging or evacuating, isolate the system and observe the pressure readings. A drop in pressure (after charging) or a rise in pressure (after vacuum) indicates a leak. Further investigation with leak detection methods (e.g., dye, soap bubbles) may be required to pinpoint the exact location.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the DY519 in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
7. Troubleshooting
- Device does not power on: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure the device is properly zeroed before use. Verify that the correct refrigerant type is selected. Check for loose hose connections that could cause leaks.
- Display is dim or unreadable: Activate the backlight function. Replace batteries if the display remains dim.
- Pressure readings fluctuate excessively: This may indicate a system instability or a potential leak. Recheck connections and perform a leak test.
