Sunster HTB1 8KW Diesel Air Heater User Manual

Model: HTB1 | Brand: Sunster

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your Sunster HTB1 8KW Diesel Air Heater. This portable heating unit is designed to provide warmth in various environments, including RVs, trailers, campers, vans, garages, and outdoor settings. It features dual power supply compatibility (12V DC and 110-240V AC), Bluetooth app control, an upgraded LCD switch, adaptive plateau mode, and an efficient internal circulation system.

2. Safety Information

  • Ventilation: Always ensure adequate ventilation when operating the heater to prevent carbon monoxide buildup. The exhaust pipe must always be routed outside the enclosed space.
  • Fuel: Use only diesel fuel. Do not use gasoline or other flammable liquids. Ensure the fuel tank cap is securely tightened to prevent leaks.
  • Electrical Connections: Connect the power cord directly to the car battery (for 12V DC) or a suitable household power source (for 110-240V AC). Do not connect to main cable wires, cigar lighters, or fuse boxes, as this may lead to unstable power supply or damage.
  • Exhaust Pipe: The exhaust pipe must be installed to direct exhaust gases safely away from the heated area. Ensure it is tilted downward to facilitate exhaust gas discharge and prevent blockage.
  • Flammable Materials: Keep flammable objects away from the exhaust pipe and hot air outlet. Use thermal insulation material where the exhaust pipe comes into contact with flammable surfaces.
  • Overheating Protection: The heater is equipped with overheating protection (≥ 270 °C). Do not block air intake or exhaust vents during operation.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the heater during operation due to hot surfaces.

4.2 Air Intake and Exhaust Setup

The air intake and exhaust pipes must be installed correctly to prevent recirculation of exhaust gases and ensure proper combustion.

  • Air Intake: Connect the air intake pipe to the designated port on the heater. Secure it with a clamp to prevent it from falling off.
  • Exhaust: Connect the exhaust pipe to the exhaust port. Ensure the exhaust pipe is routed outside the enclosed space and is tilted downward to facilitate gas discharge. Secure all connections with clamps to prevent leakage.
  • Separation: The air intake and exhaust must be in different directions to prevent the exhausted air from being drawn back into the heater.
  • Insulation: Use the provided heat protection sleeve for the exhaust pipe, especially where it might come into contact with surfaces.
