Side Wire Connection (12AWG & 14AWG)

  1. Strip approximately 5/8 inch (16mm) of insulation from the wire ends.
  2. Connect the black (hot) wire to the brass screw.
  3. Connect the white (neutral) wire to the silver screw.
  4. Connect the green (ground) wire to the green grounding screw.
  5. Tighten all screws firmly to ensure good contact.

Back Wire Connection (14AWG ONLY)

  1. Strip approximately 5/8 inch (16mm) of insulation from the wire ends.
  2. Insert the stripped end of the black (hot) wire into the back wire hole adjacent to the brass screw.
  3. Insert the stripped end of the white (neutral) wire into the back wire hole adjacent to the silver screw.
  4. Connect the green (ground) wire to the green grounding screw using the side wire method.
  5. Tighten the screws to secure the back-wired connections.

5.3 Mounting and Final Steps

  1. Carefully fold the wires into the electrical box.
  2. Secure the receptacle to the electrical box using the provided mounting screws.
  3. Attach the wall plate over the receptacle.
  4. Restore power at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
  5. Test the receptacle to ensure proper function.

To use the receptacle, simply insert a compatible electrical plug into one of the two outlets. The Tamper Resistant (TR) feature may require a firm, even push to insert the plug, as the internal shutters need to be opened simultaneously by both prongs of the plug. Ensure the plug is fully seated for a secure connection.
