Setup Guide

1. Placement

Position the projector on a stable, flat surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit. For optimal viewing, project onto a smooth, light-colored wall or a dedicated projector screen. The projector can be used indoors or outdoors.

2. Power Connection

Connect the power cable to the projector's power input and then to a standard electrical outlet.

3. Initial Image Adjustment (Automatic)

The S5 Pro features advanced 4-in-1 smart image adjustments for a hassle-free setup:

  • Auto Focus: The projector automatically adjusts the image clarity.
  • 6D Auto Keystone: Corrects distorted images (trapezoid effect) from various projection angles.
  • Screen Fit: Automatically adjusts the image size to fit your screen.
  • Obstacle Avoidance: Detects and adjusts the projection to avoid obstacles on the wall.

These features work automatically upon startup or when the projector is moved, ensuring a perfect picture with minimal effort.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

Press the power button on the projector or the remote control to turn the unit on or off.

2. Source Selection

Use the "Source" button on the remote or projector to cycle through available input sources (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, USB 1, USB 2, AV, Screen Mirroring).

3. Screen Mirroring (Wireless Connection)

The S5 Pro supports dual-band WiFi 6 (5G + 2.4G) for fast and stable screen mirroring from iOS, macOS, Android, or Windows 10 devices.

  1. Select "Screen Mirroring" as the input source.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your device to the projector's WiFi network.
  3. Activate screen mirroring/casting on your mobile device or computer.

4. Bluetooth Audio Pairing

The projector can connect to external Bluetooth speakers or act as a standalone Bluetooth speaker for your phone.

  1. To pair with an external speaker: Go to the Bluetooth settings on the projector, enable Bluetooth, and select your desired speaker from the list.
  2. To use as a standalone speaker: Select the Bluetooth input mode on the projector and pair your phone with the projector.

Note: Bluetooth supports audio transmission only, not video.

5. Zoom Adjustment

Adjust the screen size from 0% to 100% using the zoom function on the remote control without physically moving the projector. This allows for flexible placement and screen sizing up to 250 inches.

6. Image and Sound Settings

Access the projector's menu to fine-tune image and sound settings. Options typically include:

  • Brightness: Adjust the overall luminance.
  • Contrast: Control the difference between light and dark areas.
  • Color: Modify color saturation.
  • Tint: Adjust the color balance.
  • Sharpness: Enhance image detail.
  • Noise Reduction: Reduce visual noise in the image.
  • Color Temperature: Change the warmth or coolness of the colors.
  • Bass/Treble: Adjust audio frequencies.

7. USB File Playback

The projector supports direct playback of office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF) from a USB drive. Simply insert the USB drive into one of the USB ports and navigate to the file using the projector's interface.

8. TV Stick Compatibility

Connect your TV stick (e.g., Fire TV Stick, Roku Stick) to an HDMI port for seamless streaming of your favorite content from platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and YouTube.

Important Note: Due to HDCP copyright, only TV sticks can stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. TV stick is not included. For some Netflix videos, you may need to turn off Dolby Sound for proper audio playback.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

The DBPOWER S5 Pro features a full-sealed optical engine, which significantly reduces dust accumulation and ensures long-lasting, crystal-clear viewing. For external cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.

2. Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the projector in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your DBPOWER S5 Pro Projector, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • No Power: Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the projector and the power outlet. Try a different outlet.
  • No Picture:
    • Verify the correct input source is selected.
    • Check HDMI/USB cable connections.
    • Ensure the lens cap is removed.
    • Allow auto-focus to complete.
  • No Sound:
    • Adjust the volume on both the projector and the connected device.
    • If using Bluetooth, ensure proper pairing and that the external speaker is powered on.
    • For Netflix/Hulu via TV stick, try turning off Dolby Sound in the projector's audio settings.
  • Blurred Image: Allow the auto-focus feature to work. Ensure the projection surface is flat and the projector is stable.
  • Image Distorted (Trapezoid): The 6D Auto Keystone correction should automatically adjust this. If not, check projector placement.
  • Screen Mirroring Issues:
    • Ensure both devices are connected to the same WiFi network.
    • Check WiFi signal strength.
    • Restart both the projector and the mirroring device.
    • For iOS screen mirroring issues (dim/dull image), contact support for software updates.
