Setup and Assembly

The SMUG Drafting Chair is designed for straightforward assembly. It is recommended to assemble the chair on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.

Assembly Steps:

  1. Attach Casters to Base: Insert the five casters into the holes at the end of each leg of the five-star base until they click securely into place.
  2. Insert Gas Lift: Place the gas lift cylinder into the center hole of the five-star base.
  3. Attach Foot Ring: Slide the foot ring over the gas lift cylinder and secure it at your desired height using the knob.
  4. Attach Armrests to Seat: Align the armrests with the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the seat cushion. Secure them using the provided screws and Allen wrench. Ensure the flip-up mechanism is facing the correct direction.
  5. Attach Backrest to Seat: Connect the backrest to the seat cushion using the designated screws. Ensure a firm connection for stability.
  6. Connect Seat Assembly to Gas Lift: Carefully place the assembled seat and backrest onto the gas lift cylinder, ensuring it is centered and stable.

Operating Instructions

Height Adjustment:

To adjust the seat height, locate the lever under the right side of the seat cushion. While seated, pull the lever up to lower the chair. To raise the chair, stand up slightly and pull the lever up. Release the lever at the desired height. The seat height adjusts from 18.5 inches to 22.2 inches from the floor.

Foot Ring Adjustment:

The 17.7-inch diameter metal foot ring can be adjusted to your most comfortable height. Loosen the knob on the side of the foot ring, slide the ring up or down along the gas lift, and then tighten the knob firmly to secure it in place.

Flip-up Armrests:

The armrests can be flipped up to allow the chair to be pushed closer to a desk or for activities requiring more arm movement, such as playing guitar or drawing. Simply lift the armrests upwards until they lock into the vertical position. To lower them, gently pull them down.

360° Swivel and Rolling Wheels:

The chair features a 360-degree swivel function for easy rotation and smooth-rolling casters for mobility. These wheels are designed to be hardwood safe, preventing squeaking or scratching on various floor types.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

To clean the chair, simply wipe it with a clean, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by wiping with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the mesh fabric or other components.
