Setup

  1. Unpack the CHI Original Flat Iron and remove all packaging materials.
  2. Inspect the appliance for any signs of damage. Do not use if damaged.
  3. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the device's requirements (dual voltage for travel).

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for optimal styling results:

  1. Ensure your hair is clean, dry, and free of tangles. For best results and heat protection, apply a heat protectant spray.
  2. Turn on the flat iron using the On/Off switch.
  3. Adjust the temperature using the LCD controls to suit your hair type. Finer hair may require lower temperatures, while thicker or coarser hair may benefit from higher settings, up to 425°F.
  4. Allow the flat iron to heat up. The LCD display will indicate when the desired temperature is reached.
  5. Divide your hair into one to two-inch sections.
  6. Take one section of hair and place it between the ceramic plates, close to the roots.
  7. Gently close the plates and glide the flat iron down the length of the hair section in a fluid, continuous motion. Avoid stopping in one place to prevent heat damage.
  8. Repeat on all sections of hair until desired style is achieved. For curls or waves, rotate the iron as you glide it down the hair shaft.
  9. After use, turn off the flat iron and unplug it from the outlet. Allow it to cool completely before storing.
