Mounting:

The unit can be wall-mounted or placed on the floor. When wall-mounting, ensure the wall structure can support the full weight of the water heater when filled with water (approximately 31.8 lbs unit weight + 8 gallons * 8.34 lbs/gallon = ~66.5 lbs total). Use the provided hook screws and appropriate anchors for your wall type.

Plumbing Connections:

  1. Connect the cold water supply line to the blue inlet pipe on the top of the unit.
  2. Connect the hot water outlet line to the red outlet pipe on the top of the unit.
  3. Install the pressure relief valve (PRV) on the hot water outlet side or as specified by local codes. Ensure the PRV discharge pipe is directed to an appropriate drain.
  4. Use the provided sealing washers to ensure watertight connections.
  5. Once plumbing is complete, slowly open the cold water supply valve to fill the tank. Open a hot water faucet in your sink to allow air to escape. Close the faucet when a steady stream of water flows.
  6. Check all connections for leaks.

Electrical Connection:

The water heater operates on 110V and requires a dedicated 1500W circuit. Ensure your electrical system can handle the load. The unit must be properly grounded. Consult an electrician if you are unsure about electrical requirements or connections.

Operating Instructions

Initial Power-Up:

After ensuring the tank is full of water and all plumbing connections are secure and leak-free, connect the unit to power. The LED display on the front panel will illuminate.

Heating Indicators:

  • When the unit is heating water, the "Heating" indicator light will be on.
  • Once the set temperature is reached, the "Ready" indicator light will illuminate, and the heating element will turn off.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your water heater. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.

  • Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) Test: Test the PRV at least once a year by lifting the lever. Water should discharge from the drain pipe. If no water discharges, or if it continues to drip, replace the PRV.
  • Draining the Unit: If the unit will not be used for an extended period or if there is a risk of freezing, drain the tank completely. To drain, turn off the power, close the cold water supply valve, open a hot water faucet, and connect the drain hose to the drain valve (if present) or disconnect the cold water inlet to allow drainage.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (scale) can accumulate on the heating element, reducing efficiency. Descaling should be performed annually in areas with hard water. This process typically involves draining the tank and flushing it with a descaling solution. Consult a professional for descaling procedures if you are unfamiliar.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
