1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your TECKNET Bluetooth Wireless Mouse. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

4. Setup Guide

4.1. Battery Installation

  1. Gently remove the top cover of the mouse.
  2. Insert one AA battery into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Replace the top cover.

Note: Battery is not included in the package.

4.2. Connecting via 2.4GHz USB Receiver

  1. Open the battery compartment cover and remove the USB-A receiver.
  2. If your device has a USB-C port, attach the included USB-C adapter to the USB-A receiver.
  3. Plug the USB-A receiver (with or without adapter) into an available USB port on your computer.
  4. Turn on the mouse using the On/Off switch located on the bottom.
  5. The mouse should automatically connect to your device.

4.3. Connecting via Bluetooth (BT5.0/BT3.0)

  1. Turn on the mouse using the On/Off switch.
  2. Press the mode switch button on the bottom of the mouse to select either Bluetooth 5.0 (BT5.0) or Bluetooth 3.0 (BT3.0) mode. The indicator light will flash.
  3. On your device (laptop, tablet, etc.), go to Bluetooth settings.
  4. Search for new devices and select "TECKNET Mouse" from the list.
  5. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.
  6. Repeat for up to two additional Bluetooth devices if desired, using the other Bluetooth mode (BT3.0 or BT5.0) or a different pairing slot if available.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Switching Between Devices

To switch between connected devices, simply press the mode switch button on the bottom of the mouse. The mouse will cycle through 2.4G, BT5.0, and BT3.0 connections. The indicator light will show which mode is active.

5.2. DPI Adjustment

The mouse features adjustable DPI (Dots Per Inch) settings to control cursor sensitivity. Press the DPI button (usually located below the scroll wheel) to cycle through available DPI levels (e.g., 800, 1200, 1600 DPI). Choose the setting that best suits your preference and task.

5.3. Silent Click Feature

The mouse is designed with silent click buttons, reducing operational noise by up to 90%. This feature is ideal for quiet environments such as libraries, offices, or late-night use.

5.4. Energy-Saving Mode

The mouse automatically enters a low-power mode after 10 seconds of inactivity and a deep sleep mode after 30 minutes to conserve battery life. To wake the mouse, simply press any button.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Battery Replacement

When the mouse performance degrades or the indicator light suggests low battery, replace the AA battery following the installation steps in Section 4.1.

6.2. Cleaning

To clean the mouse, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the internal components. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Mouse not responding:
    • Ensure the mouse is turned on.
    • Check battery level and replace if necessary.
    • For 2.4G connection, ensure the USB receiver is securely plugged in.
    • For Bluetooth connection, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the mouse is paired correctly. Try re-pairing.
    • Switch to a different USB port or try on another computer to isolate the issue.
  • Intermittent connection:
    • Move the mouse closer to the receiver/device.
    • Avoid using the mouse on metallic surfaces, which can interfere with wireless signals.
    • Ensure there are no other strong wireless interference sources nearby.
  • Cursor movement is erratic:
    • Clean the optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse.
    • Use the mouse on a clean, non-reflective surface or a mouse pad.
    • Adjust the DPI setting to a lower value if the cursor is too sensitive.
