  • Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter).

2. Mounting the Flash

The IT20F mounts directly onto your camera's hot shoe.

  • Slide the flash unit onto the camera's hot shoe until it clicks into place.
  • Ensure the flash is securely attached to prevent accidental detachment.

3. Hot Shoe Riser (Optional)

For certain lenses, especially telephoto or large diameter lenses, the flash may cause lens barrel shadows. A TTL hot shoe riser (sold separately) can elevate the flash by 30mm to mitigate this issue and allow for tilt adjustment (0-90°).

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

Press and hold the power button to turn the flash on or off. The screen will illuminate upon power-on.

2. Mode Selection (TTL / Manual)

The IT20F supports both TTL (Through-The-Lens) automatic flash and Manual flash modes. Switch between modes using the dedicated M/TTL button.

  • TTL Mode: The flash automatically adjusts its power output based on the camera's metering system. This provides quick and accurate exposure.
  • Manual Mode: Allows you to manually set the flash power output.

4. High-Speed Sync (HSS) Limitation

The IT20F does not support High-Speed Sync (HSS). To ensure proper flash synchronization, use a shutter speed of 1/160s or slower.

5. Using Magnetic Accessories

The included magnetic diffuser and CTO (Color Temperature Orange) filters can be easily attached to the front of the flash for creative lighting effects.

  • Magnetic Diffuser: Softens the light output for a more even and natural illumination.
  • CTO Filters (1/1 and 1/2): Adjust the color temperature of the flash to match ambient light or create warmer tones.

Maintenance

  • Clean the flash unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or harsh chemicals.
  • Store the flash in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Regularly charge the battery, even if not in frequent use, to maintain battery health.
  • Keep the hot shoe contacts clean to ensure proper communication with the camera.

Troubleshooting

Flash Not Firing:

  • Ensure the flash is securely mounted on the camera's hot shoe.
  • Check if the battery is charged.
  • Verify that the camera's flash settings are correctly configured.
  • Ensure the camera's shutter speed is 1/160s or slower (due to no HSS support).

Incorrect Exposure:

  • In TTL mode, check camera exposure compensation settings.
  • In Manual mode, adjust the flash power output accordingly.
  • Ensure the flash head is pointed correctly (direct or bounced).

Lens Barrel Shadows:

  • This can occur with telephoto or large diameter lenses.
  • Consider using an optional TTL hot shoe riser to elevate the flash.
