The VK4 Rainbow is designed with a minimalist exterior featuring a perforated front panel and includes four pre-installed 120mm fans with rainbow effect for optimal airflow. It offers ample space for large hardware components and supports radiators up to 360mm, alongside features for clean cable management.

Product Overview

The Sharkoon VK4 Rainbow ATX PC Case is engineered for efficient cooling and hardware compatibility. Key features include:

• Superior Cooling: Equipped with four pre-installed 120mm rainbow effect fans for excellent airflow. Additional fan mounting options are available.
• Water Cooling Support: The front panel supports radiators up to 360mm, and the top panel accommodates radiators up to 280mm.

Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your PC components into the Sharkoon VK4 Rainbow case.

1. Prepare the Case

1. Carefully unpack the case and remove all packaging materials.
2. Remove the tempered glass side panel by unscrewing the thumb screws at the rear and gently pulling it open.
3. Remove the opposite metal side panel to access the cable management area.

2. Motherboard Installation

• The VK4 Rainbow supports Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX, and ATX motherboards.
• Install the I/O shield into the cutout at the rear of the case.
• Align your motherboard with the pre-installed standoffs and secure it with screws. Ensure all standoffs are used for proper support.

3. Power Supply Unit (PSU) Installation

• Install the PSU into the dedicated compartment at the bottom rear of the case.
• Secure the PSU with screws from the rear of the case.

4. Storage Drive Installation

• The case supports up to two 3.5" HDDs or four 2.5" SSDs.
• Mount 3.5" HDDs in the drive cage located under the PSU shroud.
• Mount 2.5" SSDs on the dedicated mounting points behind the motherboard tray or on top of the PSU shroud.

5. Graphics Card and Expansion Card Installation

• Remove the necessary expansion slot covers at the rear of the case.
• Insert your graphics card or other expansion cards into the PCIe slots on your motherboard and secure them with screws.

6. Cable Management

Utilize the cable routing cutouts and tie-down points behind the motherboard tray to organize cables. This improves airflow and aesthetics.

Operation

Front Panel Connectivity

The top panel of the VK4 Rainbow case provides convenient access to essential ports:

• 2x USB 3.0 Ports: For high-speed data transfer with compatible devices.
• 1x TRRS Port: A combined audio jack for headsets with a single 3.5mm plug (microphone and audio).
• Power Button: To turn your system on/off.
• Reset Button: To restart your system.

Fan Operation

The four pre-installed 120mm rainbow effect fans are connected via Molex connectors. Due to this connection type, the fans operate at a constant speed and their speed cannot be adjusted via the motherboard. This ensures consistent airflow but may result in a noticeable fan noise level.

Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and longevity of your PC components.

Dust Filter Cleaning

• The VK4 Rainbow features pre-installed dust filters at all air intake points (front, top, and bottom).
• Periodically remove and clean these filters to prevent dust buildup inside the case, which can impede airflow and component cooling.
• Filters can typically be cleaned with compressed air or by rinsing with water and allowing them to dry completely before reinstallation.

General Cleaning

• Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces of the case.
• For the tempered glass panel, use a glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth to avoid streaks.
• Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before performing any cleaning inside the case.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter.

• High Fan Noise: The pre-installed fans are connected via Molex and operate at a constant speed. If fan noise is a concern, consider replacing the fans with PWM-controlled alternatives that can be regulated by your motherboard.
• Poor Airflow/Overheating:
  • Check if dust filters are clean and not obstructed.
  • Ensure all case fans are spinning correctly.
  • Verify that cables are neatly managed and not blocking airflow paths.
• Difficulty with Cable Management: While the case offers space, complex builds with many components may require careful planning. Utilize cable ties and routing channels effectively.
• Front Panel Ports Not Working:
  • Ensure the front panel connectors (USB 3.0, audio, power, reset) are correctly plugged into the motherboard headers.
  • Check your motherboard manual for correct header pinouts.
