Setup Instructions

1. Connecting Peripherals

Before powering on your workstation, connect all necessary peripherals.

  1. Connect Monitor(s): Use DisplayPort cables to connect your monitor(s) to the DisplayPort outputs on the rear of the workstation. The HP Z240 supports multiple displays.
  2. Connect Keyboard and Mouse: Plug the USB keyboard and mouse into any available USB ports on the front or rear of the computer.
  3. Connect Network: For a wired connection, plug an Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 port on the rear. For wireless, ensure the USB Wi-Fi adapter is connected to a USB port.
  4. Connect Audio Devices: If using external speakers or headphones, connect them to the audio output port. Microphones connect to the audio input port.

2. Powering On

  1. Connect Power: Plug the power cable into the power connector on the rear of the workstation, then into a grounded electrical outlet.
  2. Power On: Press the power button located on the front of the workstation. The system will begin to boot up.

Operating System

Your HP Z240 Tower Workstation comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit.

  • Initial Setup: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the Windows 11 Pro initial setup, including language selection, network connection, and user account creation.
