1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your Prestige 6.0L Smart Cook Electric Cooker, Model 41414. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and retain it for future reference. This electric cooker is designed to simplify your cooking process with its intelligent features and pre-set menus.

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

• Read all instructions carefully before operating the appliance.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or the main unit in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer service for examination, repair, or adjustment.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
• This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in scalding injury. Make certain unit is properly closed before operating.
• Never force open the cooker. Ensure the pressure indicator has dropped and all internal pressure has been released before opening the lid.
• Do not fill the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or dried vegetables, do not fill the unit over 1/2 full. Overfilling may cause a risk of clogging the vent pipe and developing excess pressure.
• Be aware that certain foods, such as applesauce, cranberries, pearl barley, oatmeal or other cereals, split peas, noodles, macaroni, rhubarb, or spaghetti can foam, froth, and sputter, and clog the pressure release device. These foods should not be cooked in a pressure cooker.
• Always check the pressure release device for clogging before use.
• Do not use this pressure cooker for pressure frying with oil.
• The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Cleaning

1. Before first use, wash the stainless steel inner bowl, measuring cup, and spatula with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
2. Wipe the exterior of the cooker body and the lid with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
3. Ensure all parts are completely dry before assembly and use.

5.2 Assembling the Cooker

1. Place the stainless steel inner bowl into the main cooker unit. Ensure it sits properly and is level.
2. Close the lid by aligning the arrow on the lid with the arrow on the cooker body, then rotate clockwise until it locks into place. The lid is detachable for cleaning.
3. Ensure the pressure release valve is set to the "Seal" position for pressure cooking.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

1. Add ingredients to the stainless steel inner bowl. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
2. Securely close the lid and ensure the pressure release valve is in the "Seal" position.
3. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The display will illuminate.
4. Select your desired cooking program from the 11 pre-set Indian menu options or use the Manual Mode.
5. Adjust cooking time if necessary using the '+' and '-' buttons.
6. Press the "Start" button (or the selected program button again) to begin cooking.
7. Once cooking is complete, the cooker will automatically switch to "Keep Warm" mode.
8. To release pressure, carefully turn the pressure release valve to the "Release" position. Wait until the pressure indicator drops completely before opening the lid.

6.2 Pre-Set Indian Menu Options

The cooker features 11 pre-set programs for common Indian dishes:

• Rice: For perfectly cooked rice.
• Biryani/Pulao: Ideal for aromatic rice dishes.
• Khichdi/Pongal: For comforting lentil and rice preparations.
• Chicken Curry: Optimized for tender chicken curries.
• Mutton Curry: For rich and flavorful mutton dishes.
• Rajma/Chole: Perfect for kidney beans and chickpeas.
• Dal/Sambhar: For various lentil-based dishes.

6.3 Delay Timer Function

The Delay Timer allows you to program the cooker to start cooking at a later time. After selecting your cooking program and adjusting time, press the "Delay" button and set the desired delay time. The cooker will start automatically after the set delay.

6.4 Auto Keep-Warm Function

After the cooking cycle is complete, the cooker automatically switches to "Keep Warm" mode to maintain the food's temperature until serving.

7. Maintenance & Cleaning

Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your electric cooker.

7.1 Cleaning the Inner Bowl

• The stainless steel inner bowl is not dishwasher safe.
• Wash the inner bowl with warm soapy water after each use. For stubborn food residues, soak the bowl in warm water before cleaning.
• Use a non-abrasive sponge or cloth to avoid scratching the surface.
• Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing or next use.

7.2 Cleaning the Lid

• The lid is detachable for easy cleaning. Remove the lid from the main unit.
• Wash the lid, including the sealing gasket and pressure release valve components, with warm soapy water.
• Ensure the pressure release valve and anti-block shield are clear of any food particles.
• Rinse and dry all lid components thoroughly. Reassemble before storing.

7.3 Cleaning the Exterior Body

• Wipe the exterior of the cooker body with a damp cloth.
• Never immerse the main cooker unit in water or any other liquid.
• Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may damage the finish.
