4. Setup
4.1 Initial Charging
Before first use, or after a long period of inactivity, the device may enter battery protection mode. In this mode, you need to charge the device for an extended period to wake the battery. Connect the included USB-C charging cable to the device and a compatible 27W fast charger (not included). The device will indicate charging status.
4.2 Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power button located on the device until the screen illuminates.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button until a power-off menu appears on the screen. Select 'Power Off' to shut down the device. A short press will put the device to sleep.
4.3 Connecting to Wi-Fi
To access online features, the Google Play Store, and system updates, connect your device to a Wi-Fi network:
- Go to 'Settings' from the Android home screen.
- Select 'Network & internet'.
- Tap 'Wi-Fi' and enable it.
- Select your desired Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password if prompted.
4.4 Google Play Store Setup
The Retroid Pocket Flip 2 runs Android 13 and fully supports the Google Play Store. You will need a Google account to download apps and games. Follow the on-screen prompts to sign in or create a new Google account when you first open the Play Store application.
Note: No games are preloaded on the Retroid Pocket Flip 2. Users are responsible for acquiring and installing their own games and emulators.
5. Operating the Console
5.1 Basic Controls
The device features a standard gaming control layout:
- D-Pad: For directional input.
- Hall-Effect Analog Sticks: Two analog sticks for 360-degree movement and camera control.
- ABXY Buttons: Standard action buttons.
