4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Camera

Before first use, fully charge the camera using the provided USB-C charging cable. The charging port is typically located under a weatherproof cover on the camera body.

4.2 App Installation and Account Creation

  1. Download the Kiwibit app from your smartphone's app store (Google Play Store for Android or Apple App Store for iOS).
  2. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account or log in if you already have one.

4.3 Connecting to Wi-Fi

The camera only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. It is not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi.

  1. In the Kiwibit app, tap the "Add Device" or "+" icon.
  2. Select your camera model or scan the QR code on the camera if prompted.
  3. Follow the app's instructions to connect the camera to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. This usually involves entering your Wi-Fi password and presenting a QR code generated by the app to the camera's lens.
  4. Listen for audio prompts from the camera confirming successful connection.

4.4 Installation Options

The camera offers flexible installation with both magnetic and wall mount options.

  • Magnetic Mount: The camera has a built-in magnetic base allowing for instant, tool-free setup on any ferromagnetic surface. Ensure the surface is stable and can support the camera's weight.
  • Wall Mount: For a more permanent installation, use the included screws and wall mount plate.
  1. Choose a suitable location for your camera, considering Wi-Fi signal strength and desired viewing angle.
  2. If using the wall mount, mark the drilling points using the mount plate as a template.
  3. Drill holes, insert wall anchors (if necessary), and secure the mount plate with screws.
  4. Attach the camera to the magnetic base or the wall mount plate and adjust the angle as needed.

5. Operating the Camera

5.1 Live View and Playback

Access live video feed and recorded footage through the Kiwibit app.

  • Open the Kiwibit app and select your camera from the device list to view the live feed.
  • Use the playback function to review recorded events stored on the SD card or cloud.

5.2 Night Vision Modes

The camera supports two night vision modes: full color and infrared.

5.4 Two-Way Audio and Siren

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Management

The camera is battery-powered. Monitor battery levels in the app and recharge as needed using the USB-C cable. For continuous power, consider a compatible solar panel (sold separately).

6.2 Cleaning

Wipe the camera lens and body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
