Compatibility and Pre-Installation Checks
Before installing your new LED bulbs, it is crucial to confirm compatibility with your vehicle and perform necessary checks.
- Verify Bulb Type: These bulbs are designed to replace D4S and D4R HID bulbs only. They are not compatible with halogen bulb systems, even if a fitment guide suggests otherwise.
- Check Vehicle Fitment: Use a reliable vehicle fitment tool (e.g., on the product page) by entering your car's make, year, and model to confirm compatibility.
- Physical Clearance: The base of these LED bulbs may be larger than your original HID bulbs due to the integrated cooling fan. Ensure there is sufficient space within your vehicle's headlight assembly and that the dust cover can be reinstalled. Failure to do so may prevent proper installation or affect bulb performance and lifespan.

Installation
The SEALIGHT SD1 Series LED bulbs are designed for a plug-and-play installation, directly compatible with your original HID ballast. Follow these steps for proper installation:
- Preparation: Ensure your vehicle is turned off and the engine is cool. Disconnect the negative terminal of your vehicle's battery for safety.
- Access Headlight Assembly: Locate your vehicle's headlight assembly. Depending on your vehicle model, you may need to remove covers or other components to access the bulb.
- Remove Original Bulb: Carefully disconnect the wiring from the original HID bulb. Then, unclip or twist to remove the old bulb from its housing. Avoid touching the glass part of the HID bulb.
- Insert New LED Bulb: Insert the SEALIGHT LED bulb into the headlight housing. Ensure it is seated correctly and firmly. The precise positioning ring helps ensure the bulb is in the optimal position for the reflective bowl.
- Secure Bulb: Secure the LED bulb in place using the existing clips or locking mechanism.
- Connect Wiring: Connect the LED bulb's plug directly to your vehicle's original HID ballast connector. The bulbs feature a 1:1 original bulb design for direct compatibility.
- Test Functionality: Before reassembling the headlight covers or other components, reconnect the vehicle's battery and test the lights to ensure they function correctly (low beam, high beam, and any other relevant functions).
- Final Assembly: Once confirmed working, reattach any removed covers or components.

Operation
Once installed, your SEALIGHT SD1 Series LED bulbs will provide enhanced illumination for safer night driving.
- Instant Brightness: These LED bulbs achieve full brightness in approximately 0.01 seconds, eliminating the warm-up delay common with traditional HID bulbs.
- Enhanced Visibility: The 6000K cool white light provides a clear and broad illumination pattern, extending your visibility distance significantly compared to standard HID bulbs.
- Beam Pattern: The bulbs are designed to maintain a factory-like light beam pattern, ensuring proper light distribution without excessive glare to oncoming traffic.

Maintenance
SEALIGHT SD1 Series LED bulbs are designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. However, following these general guidelines can help ensure optimal performance:
- Keep Clean: Periodically inspect your headlight lenses for dirt or haze. Clean them with appropriate automotive cleaning products to maintain maximum light output.
- Check Connections: Ensure all electrical connections remain secure. Loose connections can lead to flickering or intermittent operation.
- Cooling System: The bulbs feature an integrated cooling fan. Ensure the fan area is not obstructed by debris, which could impair heat dissipation and reduce bulb lifespan.
- Avoid Physical Damage: Protect the headlight assembly from impacts that could damage the bulbs or their internal components.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your SEALIGHT LED bulbs, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Bulb does not light up | Loose connection, incorrect installation, faulty bulb, vehicle electrical issue. | Check all connections are secure. Ensure the bulb is correctly seated and plugged into the ballast. Test with the original HID bulb if possible to rule out a vehicle electrical issue. |
| Flickering or intermittent operation | Loose connection, incompatible vehicle electrical system (rare for plug-and-play), voltage fluctuations. | Verify all connections are tight. Ensure the bulb is fully compatible with your vehicle's HID system. If flickering persists, consult a professional auto electrician. |
| Reduced light output or poor beam pattern | Improper bulb seating, dirty headlight lens, dust cover obstruction. | Re-seat the bulb to ensure it's correctly aligned. Clean the headlight lens. Ensure the dust cover is not interfering with the bulb or its cooling fan. |
| Bulb fails prematurely | Overheating due to obstructed cooling, manufacturing defect, voltage spike. | Ensure the cooling fan is not obstructed. If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
