Setup

1. Initial Opening

Upon receiving your safe, use one of the provided emergency keys to open the safe for the first time. The keyhole is typically concealed behind the keypad cover or a small panel. Insert the key and turn it while rotating the knob to open the door.

2. Battery Installation

Locate the battery compartment inside the safe door. Insert 4 AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings. Close the compartment cover securely.

3. Setting Your Password

  1. With the safe door open, press the red reset button located on the inside of the door. You will hear a beep.
  2. On the keypad, enter your desired 1-8 digit password.
  3. Press the '#' key to confirm. The safe will beep to indicate successful password setting.

Important: Test your new password several times with the door open before closing it to ensure it works correctly.

4. Mounting the Safe

For enhanced security, it is recommended to mount the safe to a wall or floor using the provided expansion screws.

  1. Choose a suitable location, ensuring it is a solid surface.
  2. Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes inside the safe.
  3. Drill holes in the wall or floor using an appropriate drill bit.
  4. Align the safe with the drilled holes and insert the expansion screws.
  5. Tighten the screws firmly to secure the safe in place.

Operation

1. Opening the Safe with Password

  1. Enter your 1-8 digit password on the backlit touchscreen keypad.
  2. Press the '#' key.
  3. Within 5 seconds, rotate the knob clockwise to open the safe door.

2. Opening the Safe with Emergency Key

In case of forgotten password or battery failure, the emergency key can be used.

  1. Remove the keypad cover or access panel to reveal the emergency keyhole.
  2. Insert the emergency key and turn it counter-clockwise.
  3. Simultaneously rotate the knob clockwise to open the safe door.

3. Opening with Emergency Battery Box (if batteries are dead)

If the internal batteries are depleted and you do not have the emergency key, use the external emergency battery box.

  1. Connect the emergency battery box to the external power port, usually located near the keypad.
  2. Enter your password on the keypad and press '#'.
  3. Rotate the knob clockwise to open the safe door.

4. Closing and Locking the Safe

Close the safe door and rotate the knob counter-clockwise until the bolts are fully extended and the door is securely locked.

5. Mute Function

To enable or disable the keypad sound, refer to the specific instructions in your quick start guide. This function allows for silent operation.

6. Internal Storage and Organization

The safe features adjustable shelves and a soft velvet lining to protect your valuables. The shelves can be repositioned or removed to accommodate items of various sizes.

Security Features

1. Dual Alarm System

The safe is equipped with a dual alarm system:

  • 3 Wrong Password Attempts: If an incorrect password is entered three consecutive times, the alarm will activate.
  • Vibration Alarm: Any forceful impact or unauthorized movement of the safe will trigger the alarm.

The alarm sounds at over 70 decibels for 30 seconds to deter intruders.

2. Robust Construction

The Kavey K1-55D safe is constructed from premium low-carbon alloy steel, featuring a 6cm thick anti-drill door and a 1mm anti-pry seam. Five 28mm anti-theft bolts secure the door, providing resistance against forced entry.

Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries annually or when the low battery indicator appears. Use high-quality AA alkaline batteries.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or keypad.
  • Key Storage: Store emergency keys in a secure location away from the safe, but accessible in case of emergency.

Troubleshooting
