3. Setup
3.1 App Installation and WiFi Connection
- Download the "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
- Register or log in to your Smart Life account.
- Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz. The device does not support 5GHz networks.
- Plug in the WiFi Hub (if applicable) and follow the in-app instructions to add it to your Smart Life account.
- Insert batteries into the water timer unit (batteries not included, typically AA or AAA).
- Follow the in-app instructions to add the WiFi Water Timer to your Smart Life account via the connected WiFi Hub. This usually involves pressing a button on the timer to enter pairing mode.
3.2 Physical Installation
- Attach the Insoma WiFi Water Timer directly to your outdoor faucet. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
- Connect your garden hoses to the two outlets on the bottom of the timer. Each outlet corresponds to a watering zone.
- Ensure the timer is installed vertically to prevent water from entering the battery compartment.

4. Operating Instructions
Once the timer is set up and connected to the Smart Life app, you can begin programming your watering schedules.
4.1 Setting Watering Schedules
The app allows for two main types of watering schedules: Timed Irrigation and Cyclical Irrigation.

4.1.1 Timed Irrigation
- Open the Smart Life app and select your Insoma Water Timer.
- Choose the desired zone (Zone 1 or Zone 2).
- Select "Timed Watering Schedule".
- Set the specific start time, watering duration, and the days of the week for irrigation.
- Save the schedule.
4.1.2 Cyclical Irrigation (Water Saving Mode)
This mode allows for multiple short watering intervals within a set period, giving soil time to absorb water and reducing runoff.

- Open the Smart Life app and select your Insoma Water Timer.
- Choose the desired zone.
- Select "Cyclical Watering Schedule".
- Set the start time, end time, irrigation duration (e.g., 5 minutes), and interval time (e.g., 1 hour).
- Select the days of the week for this cycle.
- Save the schedule.
4.2 Manual Watering Mode
To water immediately outside of a scheduled program:

- In the Smart Life app, select your Insoma Water Timer.
- Tap the "Manual" or "Countdown" option.
- Set the desired watering duration (from 1 minute up to 23 hours 59 minutes).
- Confirm to start manual watering. The timer will automatically stop after the set duration.
4.3 Rain Delay Setting
To prevent overwatering during rainy periods, you can temporarily pause all scheduled watering.

- In the Smart Life app, select your Insoma Water Timer.
- Look for the "Rain Delay" option.
- Select the desired delay duration (e.g., 24 hours, 48 hours, up to 7 days).
- Confirm the setting. Scheduled watering will resume automatically after the delay period.
4.4 Voice Control
Integrate your Insoma Water Timer with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for convenient voice commands.

- Ensure your Insoma Water Timer is successfully connected to the Smart Life app.
- Open your Alexa or Google Home app.
- Enable the "Smart Life" skill/action.
- Link your Smart Life account.
- Discover devices. Your water timer should appear.
- You can now use commands like:
- "Alexa, turn on [Timer Name] Zone 1 for 10 minutes."
- "Hey Google, start watering [Timer Name] Zone 2."
- "Alexa, turn off [Timer Name]."
5. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries annually or when the low battery indicator appears in the app. Use fresh alkaline batteries.
- Cleaning: Periodically check the filter washer at the inlet for debris and clean if necessary to ensure proper water flow.
- Winterization: Before the first frost, disconnect the timer from the faucet and hoses. Remove batteries and store the timer indoors in a dry, frost-free location. Failure to do so may result in damage due to freezing water.
- Leak Checks: Regularly inspect all connections for leaks and tighten as needed.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Water Flow:
- Check if the faucet is fully open.
- Ensure the timer is not in "Rain Delay" mode.
- Verify that the schedule is active and correctly set in the app.
- Check battery levels and replace if low.
- Inspect the inlet filter for clogs.
- Timer Not Connecting to WiFi:
- Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz WiFi signal.
- Move the WiFi Hub (if applicable) closer to the water timer and router.
- Restart your router and the WiFi Hub.
- Attempt to re-pair the device following the app's instructions.
- Inaccurate Watering Times:
- Verify the time zone settings in the Smart Life app.
- Check that the watering duration and frequency are correctly set for each schedule.
- Voice Control Not Working:
- Confirm that the "Smart Life" skill/action is enabled and linked in your Alexa/Google Home app.
- Ensure the device name used in voice commands matches the name in the Smart Life app.
- Check your internet connection.
