Operating: How to Play

Basic UNO Gameplay

The game follows the standard UNO rules. Players take turns matching the top card of the discard pile by color, number, or symbol. If a player cannot make a match, they must draw a card from the draw pile. If the drawn card can be played, they may play it immediately. Otherwise, play passes to the next player.

Elite Action Cards

Elite Action Cards introduce a new strategic layer to the game. These cards feature Formula 1 elements such as drivers, cars, helmets, circuits, team principals, and reserve drivers. Each Elite Action Card has a special power.

Activating Elite Action Cards

When a player plays a classic UNO card that has an 'Elite icon' on it, they can activate one of their Elite Action Cards from their personal 'Lineup'. Once activated, the Elite Action Card's special power takes effect. Some Elite Action Cards are dual-color, offering more flexibility in matching, and some are 'Wild', allowing them to be played at any time.

Winning the Game

The first player to play all of their cards wins the round. When a player has only one card left, they must yell "UNO!" If they fail to do so and another player catches them before the next player takes their turn, they must draw two penalty cards.

Color Blindness Accessibility

The cards feature unique graphic symbols to help identify card colors, ensuring that players with any form of color blindness can participate fully in the game.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity of your UNO Elite Formula 1 card game, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Storage: Store cards in their original box or a suitable card protector to prevent bending, tearing, or loss. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Cleaning: If cards become dirty, gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or excessive moisture, as this can damage the card material.
  • Handling: Handle cards with clean, dry hands to prevent smudges and wear. Avoid bending or creasing the cards during play.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your UNO Elite Formula 1 game, consider the following:

  • Missing Cards: Verify the contents against the 'Contents' list in the Setup section. If cards are missing from a new, unopened pack, contact Mattel customer support.
  • Rules Clarification: Refer to this instruction manual for detailed rules. For further assistance, visit the official Mattel service website.
