The 4-inch digital display provides critical information:

  • Battery Level: Indicated by color (Green: 100%-60%, Orange: 60%-20%, Red: 20%-0%).
  • IN: Illuminates when the device is being charged.

3. Safety Information

  • Do not jump start a frozen battery.
  • Ensure the jump starter is fully charged before use for optimal performance.
  • Connect the clamps correctly: Red to positive (+), Black to negative (-). Reverse polarity will trigger safety protection.
  • Do not allow the red and black clamps to touch each other once connected to the jump starter.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Use the jump starter in a well-ventilated area.
  • Do not expose the device to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
  • If the battery is extremely hot, smoking, or leaking, discontinue use immediately.
  • Always remove the jump starter from the vehicle battery within 30 seconds after the vehicle starts.

4. Setup and Initial Charging

4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the AVAPOW TJ18. Connect the included USB-C charging cable to the USB-C input/output port on the jump starter and plug the other end into a USB wall adapter (not included). The 4-inch display will show the 'IN' indicator illuminated, and the battery level will increase. A full charge typically takes approximately 2.5 hours with an 18W PD charger.

4.2 Storing the Device

Store the jump starter in its protective carrying case when not in use. Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, ensure the device is charged to at least 50% and recharge every 3-6 months to maintain battery health.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Jump Starting a Vehicle (Normal Mode)

Use Normal Mode when the vehicle battery is low but not completely dead.

  1. Connect Clamps: Plug the smart jumper cables into the EC5 output port of the jump starter.
  2. Attach to Battery: Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle battery and the black clamp to the negative (-) terminal.
  3. Check Display: The jump starter's display will show 'READY' and the green light will be on, indicating a correct connection and readiness to start.
  4. Start Vehicle: Start your vehicle within 45 seconds.
  5. Remove Clamps: Once the vehicle starts, immediately remove the clamps from the car battery, then disconnect the cables from the jump starter.

5.2 Jump Starting a Vehicle (Force Start Mode)

Use Force Start Mode only when the vehicle battery is completely dead and the jump starter does not automatically detect it in Normal Mode. This mode bypasses some safety checks, so exercise extreme caution.

  1. Connect Clamps: Plug the smart jumper cables into the EC5 output port of the jump starter.
  2. Attach to Battery: Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle battery and the black clamp to the negative (-) terminal.
  3. Activate Force Start: Press and hold the 'Force Start' button on the jump starter for 3 seconds. The display will show the 'Forced Start Indicator' and the green light will be on.
  4. Start Vehicle: Start your vehicle within 45 seconds.
  5. Remove Clamps: Once the vehicle starts, immediately remove the clamps from the car battery, then disconnect the cables from the jump starter.

  • Dual USB-A Outputs: Connect your devices using standard USB cables to the USB-A ports (5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A).
  • 12V DC Output: Use the 12V/10A DC output with the included cigarette lighter adapter to power 12V accessories.

5.4 Using the LED Light

  • Steady Light: Press the LED light button once for continuous illumination.
  • Strobe Light: Press the LED light button twice for a flashing strobe effect.
  • SOS Signal: Press the LED light button three times for the SOS Morse code signal.
  • Turn Off: Press the LED light button a fourth time to turn off the light.

6. Maintenance
