Setup

1. Track Preparation

Ensure your O Gauge track is clean, properly assembled, and laid on a stable surface. The minimum curve radius required for this locomotive is O31.

2. Connecting Locomotive and Tender

Carefully place the locomotive and tender on the track. Connect the tethered connection cable between the locomotive and tender. Ensure the connection is secure for proper electrical contact and improved slow-speed operation.

3. Power Connection

Connect your electric power supply to the track as per your track system's instructions. This locomotive operates with a standard transformer in Conventional mode or with LEGACY/TrainMaster Command Control systems.

Control Systems

The locomotive supports multiple control modes:

• LEGACY Control Mode: For advanced operation with a LEGACY Control System.
• TrainMaster Command Control (TMCC) Mode: Compatible with TMCC systems.
• Conventional Mode: Operates with a standard transformer.

Bluetooth and Voice Control

• Bluetooth Control: Operate using a Universal Remote or the Lionel LionChief App on your smart device.
• Lionel Voice Control (LVC): Utilize voice commands through the LionChief App for locomotive operation.

Odyssey II Speed Control

The integrated Odyssey II Speed Control system maintains consistent speed regardless of load or grade, enhancing realism.

Lighting Features

• Directional Lighting: Includes an operating headlight and a back-up light on the rear of the tender.
• Bicolor Illuminated Classification Lights: Located on the front of the locomotive. Using a Legacy controller, these lights can be changed between white or green.

Smoke Unit

The locomotive features a synchronized fan-driven smoke unit with adjustable smoke output. Refer to your LEGACY or TMCC system manual for instructions on filling and operating the smoke unit.

LEGACY RailSounds Sound System

Experience realistic audio effects with the LEGACY RailSounds system:

• CrewTalk Dialog: Different scenarios depending on locomotive motion or stop.
• TrainSounds: Mimics operating dialog during motion or stops.
• DynaChuff: Synchronized with 32 levels of intensity as the locomotive gains speed.
• LEGACY "Real-Time Quilling Whistle": Instant response for realistic signature quilling and correctly timed warning signals. Choose from 5 different whistles.
• Mechanical Bell Sounds: Single hit or continuous, with 5 levels of bell pitching.
• Sequence Control: Plays sound effects of an entire trip, including warning sounds and announcements, based on movement and speed.
• Additional Sounds: Current speed and fuel dialog, coal or oil loading sound effects.

ElectroCouplers

The locomotive is equipped with dual ElectroCouplers for remote uncoupling, one on the rear of the tender and potentially one on the front of the locomotive (if applicable to this model).

Maintenance

General Cleaning
