3. Installation Guide

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of your SimPure Q3-600A system. It is recommended to confirm your installation space and consult a professional plumber if you are unsure about any steps.

3.1. Pre-Installation Checklist

3.2. Installation Steps (General Overview)

  1. Turn off Water Supply: Locate and turn off the cold water supply valve under your sink.
  2. Install Feed Water Adapter: Connect the feed water adapter to the cold water line.
  3. Install Faucet: Drill a hole (if necessary) in the sink or countertop for the ALK faucet. Secure the faucet.
  4. Install Drain Saddle: Attach the drain saddle to the drain pipe to connect the drain line from the RO system.
  5. Mount Main Unit: Place the main RO unit in the desired under-sink location.
  6. Connect Tubing: Connect the various color-coded tubes from the feed water adapter, faucet, and drain saddle to the corresponding ports on the main RO unit.
  7. Install Filters: Ensure all filters are correctly seated in their compartments.
  8. Power On: Plug the system into a grounded electrical outlet.
  9. Flush System: Slowly turn on the cold water supply. Open the ALK faucet and allow the system to flush for approximately 15-30 minutes to remove air and carbon fines. Check for leaks.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Dispensing Water

To dispense purified water, simply turn on the ALK faucet. The tankless design ensures fresh water is filtered on demand, eliminating the need to wait for a storage tank to fill.

4.2. Understanding the ALK Faucet

The ALK faucet incorporates a dedicated ALK filtration stage. This stage adds essential macro-minerals and trace elements back into the purified water, which can help maintain the body's acid-base balance and improve water taste.

4.3. Using the TDS Meter

The included TDS meter allows you to monitor the quality of your filtered water. TDS refers to the total concentration of dissolved substances in water. Lower TDS values generally indicate purer water.

  1. Power On: Press the "ON/OFF" button to turn on the TDS meter.
  2. Immerse Probe: Dip the meter's probe into a sample of your filtered water (or tap water for comparison).
  3. Read Display: The digital display will show the TDS reading in parts per million (ppm). It can also display temperature and electrical conductivity (EC).
  4. Interpret Results: A green display indicates TDS below 40 ppm, while a red display indicates TDS at or above 40 ppm, suggesting potential filter replacement or water quality issues.
