Image 5.1: Input switching methods.

  • Automatic Switching: The switch can automatically detect and switch to a newly activated HDMI source.
  • Manual Button: Press the Select button on the front panel of the device to cycle through the HDMI inputs.
  • IR Remote Control: Use the provided IR remote control to directly select HDMI 1 input or HDMI 2 input.

5.2 Audio Output Configuration

The switch allows you to configure the audio output mode based on your audio system requirements:

Diagram showing audio output options: L/R RCA for 2.0CH audio, and Optical/Coaxial for 5.1CH home audio systems.

Image 5.2: Audio output options.

  • TV (Pass-through): The audio signal is passed directly to the HDMI output, allowing your display or connected audio system to decode it. This mode supports 7.1CH audio via eARC/ARC.
  • 2.0CH: The switch extracts 2-channel stereo audio, outputting it via the L/R RCA and 3.5mm jack ports.
  • 5.1CH: The switch extracts 5.1 channel audio, outputting it via the SPDIF (Optical Toslink) and Coaxial ports.

Use the TV/2.0/5.1 Switch on the front panel or the corresponding buttons on the remote control (2CH ON/OFF, 5.1CH ON/OFF) to select your desired audio mode.

5.3 ARC/eARC Functionality

The Audio Return Channel (ARC) and enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) allow audio from your TV's built-in apps or tuner to be sent back to your audio system through the HDMI cable connected to the switch's HDMI ARC (OUT) port.

Diagram showing how to connect the HDMI (ARC) port of the TV to the HDMI ARC output of the converter, and then connect the converter's audio outputs to an audio power amplifier.

Image 5.3: ARC function connection.

To use the ARC function:

  1. Ensure your TV's HDMI port is ARC/eARC compatible and enabled in your TV settings.
  2. Connect the HDMI ARC (OUT) port of the switch to the ARC/eARC HDMI input on your TV.
  3. Connect the desired audio output ports (L/R, SPDIF, Coaxial) from the switch to your audio amplifier or sound system.
  4. Press the ARC Key on the front panel or the ARC ON/OFF button on the remote to activate the ARC function.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, please refer to the following troubleshooting guide:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No video outputLoose HDMI cables, incorrect input selection, power issue.Check all HDMI cable connections. Ensure the correct input (IN 1 or IN 2) is selected on the switch. Verify the power adapter is connected and the POWER LED is on. Try a different HDMI cable.
No audio outputIncorrect audio mode, loose audio cables, audio system settings.Check audio cable connections. Ensure the audio mode (TV/2.0/5.1) is correctly set on the switch or via remote. Verify your audio system's input and settings. If using ARC, ensure it's enabled on both the TV and the switch.
Remote control not workingBattery depleted, IR sensor blocked, remote too far.Replace the remote control battery. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the switch's IR sensor. Operate the remote within a reasonable distance and angle.
Intermittent signal/flickeringPoor quality HDMI cable, cable too long, resolution/refresh rate incompatibility.Use certified high-speed HDMI cables (HDMI 2.0 or 2.1). Ensure cable length is appropriate for the resolution. Check if your display and source support the selected resolution and refresh rate (e.g., 4K@120Hz).
