2. Safety Instructions

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the device and vehicle:

• Read all instructions carefully before use.
• Wear eye protection and protective gloves when operating the jump starter.
• Ensure adequate ventilation when jump-starting a vehicle.
• Do not smoke or allow sparks or flames near the battery or jump starter.
• Connect the clamps to the correct polarity: RED clamp to the positive (+) terminal, BLACK clamp to the negative (-) terminal or vehicle chassis.
• Do not allow the red and black clamps to touch each other.

Key Components:

5. Setup and Initial Charging

5.1 Charging the Jump Starter Unit

1. Connect the supplied USB-C to USB-C cable or USB-A to USB-C cable to the USB-C Input/Output port on the jump starter.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to a suitable USB wall adapter (not included) or a powered USB port.
3. The digital display will show the charging progress. Charge until the display indicates 100%.
4. Once fully charged, disconnect the charging cable.

For optimal performance and battery longevity, recharge the unit every 3-6 months, even if not in use.

6. Operating the Jump Starter

The Voltcraft VC-CJS77 is designed to jump-start 12V vehicles with petrol engines up to 8.0 liters and diesel engines up to 6.0 liters.

6.1 Jump-Starting a Vehicle

1. Ensure the jump starter unit is at least 75% charged.
2. Turn off the vehicle's ignition and all accessories (lights, radio, etc.).
3. Connect the blue end of the jump starter cables to the jump starter port on the VC-CJS77 unit.
4. Connect the RED positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery.
5. Connect the BLACK negative (-) clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the vehicle's battery or a solid, unpainted metal part of the vehicle's chassis away from the battery.
6. Once connected, the jump starter's display may show a voltage reading. If the vehicle battery is extremely low, press the BOOST button on the unit. Wait for the indicator to confirm it's ready.
7. Start the vehicle's engine. If it doesn't start immediately, wait 30 seconds before trying again. Do not crank for more than 3 seconds per attempt.
8. Once the vehicle starts, immediately disconnect the BLACK clamp first, then the RED clamp from the vehicle battery.
9. Disconnect the jump starter cables from the VC-CJS77 unit.

Important: Do not leave the jump starter connected to the vehicle battery for more than 30 seconds after the engine starts.

7. Operating the Air Compressor

The integrated air compressor can inflate tires and other inflatables up to a maximum pressure of 11 bar (approximately 160 PSI).

7.1 Inflating Tires or Inflatables

1. Connect the air hose to the air compressor port on the VC-CJS77 unit.
2. Attach the appropriate valve adapter to the air hose, if necessary, and then to the item you wish to inflate.
3. Turn on the jump starter unit. The display will show the current pressure.
4. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to set the desired target pressure (PSI, BAR, KPA, kg/cm²).
5. Press the compressor start button (usually indicated by a tire icon) to begin inflation.
6. The compressor will automatically stop once the preset pressure is reached.
7. Disconnect the air hose from the item and the jump starter unit.

Note: The compressor may become warm during extended use. Allow it to cool down if necessary.

8. Using the LED Light

The VC-CJS77 features a multi-mode LED work light for illumination in various situations.

8.1 Activating the LED Light

1. Press and hold the LED light button (usually indicated by a light bulb icon) to turn on the light in its steady mode.
2. Press the button again to cycle through the different modes: steady light, SOS signal, and strobe/flash.
3. Press and hold the button again to turn off the LED light.

9. Using as a Power Bank

The VC-CJS77 can also serve as a portable power bank to charge your electronic devices.

9.1 Charging External Devices

1. Connect your device's charging cable to one of the USB-A output ports or the USB-C input/output port on the jump starter.
2. The jump starter will automatically begin charging your device. The display may show 'OUT' and the power output.
3. Disconnect your device once charging is complete.
