Moxen Raptors Portable Basketball Hoop Instruction Manual
Model: 730057
Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Moxen Raptors Portable Basketball Hoop. This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your basketball hoop. Please read these instructions carefully before use and retain them for future reference.
Safety Information
- Ensure all components are securely fastened before each use.
- Do not hang on the rim or backboard. This can cause serious injury and damage the product.
- Always fill the base with water or sand to ensure stability. An unfilled base can lead to tipping and injury.
- Supervise children during play.
- Regularly inspect the hoop for any signs of wear or damage. Do not use if damaged.
- Adjust the height only when no one is directly under the hoop.
Parts List
Before assembly, verify that all the following components are present:
- Backboard (Polyethylene and PET)
- Steel Rim (16mm thick, 38cm diameter)
- Nylon Net
- Steel Pole (38mm round tube)
- Base (75x45x9cm)
- Assembly Hardware (bolts, nuts, washers, etc.)
Setup Instructions
- Assemble the Pole: Connect the pole sections according to the diagrams provided in the packaging. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
- Attach the Backboard and Rim: Secure the steel rim to the backboard using the provided hardware. Then, attach the assembled backboard and rim to the top section of the pole. Ensure all bolts are tightened to prevent wobbling.
- Install the Net: Attach the nylon net to the rim.
- Connect Pole to Base: Insert the bottom section of the pole into the designated slot on the base. Secure it with the appropriate hardware.
- Fill the Base: The base must be filled for stability. Remove the cap and fill the base with up to 16.5 kg (approximately 16.5 liters) of water or sand. Water is easier to fill and empty, while sand provides more stability in windy conditions. Securely replace the cap after filling.
- Adjust Height: Before use, adjust the hoop to the desired height. Refer to the 'Operating Instructions' section for details on height adjustment.

Operating Instructions
Height Adjustment
The Moxen Raptors Portable Basketball Hoop features an adjustable height mechanism, allowing the rim height to be set between 1.08 meters (108cm) and 2.10 meters (210cm).
- Ensure the area around the hoop is clear of people and obstructions.
- Locate the height adjustment mechanism on the pole. This typically involves loosening a knob or pin, sliding the pole section to the desired height, and then re-securing it.
- Carefully raise or lower the hoop to the desired playing height.
- Once the desired height is reached, ensure the adjustment mechanism is fully tightened and locked into place to prevent accidental movement during play.

General Use
- Use only standard basketballs appropriate for the hoop size.
- Avoid rough play that could destabilize the hoop.
- Do not attempt to move the hoop when the base is filled. If relocation is necessary, partially or fully empty the base first.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the backboard, pole, and base with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the surfaces.
- Inspection: Regularly check all bolts, nuts, and connections for tightness. Re-tighten as necessary. Inspect the net for tears and the rim for deformation.
- Base Water/Sand: If using water in the base, consider adding antifreeze in cold climates to prevent freezing and cracking of the base. If using sand, ensure the cap remains sealed to prevent moisture ingress.
- Storage: For prolonged periods of non-use, especially during harsh weather, it is recommended to lower the hoop to its minimum height or store it indoors if possible.

Troubleshooting
- Hoop is unstable: Ensure the base is fully filled with water or sand. Check that all pole connections and the pole-to-base connection are securely tightened.
- Height adjustment is difficult: Check for any obstructions or debris in the adjustment mechanism. Ensure the locking pin/knob is fully disengaged before attempting to adjust. Lubrication may be needed for moving parts.
- Backboard wobbles: Verify that the backboard is securely attached to the pole and all mounting hardware is tightened.
