2. Important Safety Instructions
To reduce the risk of injury or damage, always follow these basic safety precautions:

5. Operating Instructions
Control Panel Functions

- OFF: Turns the shredder off. Always set to OFF when emptying the waste bin or when not in use.

Shredding Documents
The BONSEN shredder can shred up to 14 sheets of paper (70g/m²) at once, as well as CDs, credit cards, staples, and small paper clips.

- Ensure the shredder is plugged in and the power switch is set to AUTO.
- Insert paper, CDs, or credit cards into the designated entry slot. The shredder will automatically begin shredding.
- Do not exceed the maximum sheet capacity to prevent jams.
Continuous Operation
This shredder features a 20-minute continuous run time, allowing it to shred approximately 1,400 sheets in one session. After 20 minutes of continuous use, the shredder will automatically enter a 30-minute cooldown mode to protect internal components. During this time, the overheating indicator light will illuminate.

Emptying the Waste Bin
The shredder is equipped with a 5.3-gallon waste bin, capable of holding approximately 350 sheets of shredded paper.

- Set the power switch to OFF and unplug the shredder.
- Pull out the waste bin.
- Empty the shredded material.
- Replace the waste bin securely.
- Plug in the shredder and set the power switch to AUTO to resume operation.
6. Maintenance
Lubricating the Shredder Blades
Regular lubrication is essential for maintaining shredder performance and extending its lifespan. Use the included BONSEN lubricant sheets (50-pack) for best results.

- Ensure the shredder is in AUTO mode.
- Feed one lubricant sheet directly into the shredder feed entrance as you would a piece of paper.
- After the sheet has been completely shredded, set the shredder to REV for 10 seconds to ensure thorough lubrication.
- If the shredder feed entrance is wider than the lubricant sheet, use additional sheets to ensure the entire blade width is covered and lubricated.
- The shredder is now ready for use.
Note: Do not tear or fold the lubricant sheet before shredding. Store sheets in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children. Wash hands after use.
Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the shredder with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
7. Troubleshooting
