Thank you for purchasing the Chefman Single Serve Coffee Maker. This manual provides important information regarding the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new appliance. Please read it thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

Important Safeguards

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  • Read all instructions.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or coffee maker in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

Setup and First Use

Before using your Chefman Single Serve Coffee Maker for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the coffee maker for any damage.
  2. Clean: Wash the removable water reservoir, drip tray, and reusable filter (if included) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Position: Place the coffee maker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface near an electrical outlet.
  4. Fill Water Reservoir: Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the MAX fill line.
  5. First Clean Cycle:
    • Ensure no coffee pod is in the brew chamber.
    • Place a large mug or container on the drip tray.
    • Press the CLEAN button on the control panel.
    • Allow the machine to complete a full brew cycle with just water. This cleans the internal components.
    • Discard the hot water.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew a cup of coffee:

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Ensure the water reservoir is filled with fresh, cold water to your desired brew size.
  2. Insert Pod/Grounds:
    • For K-Cup pods: Lift the handle, insert a K-Cup pod into the pod holder, and close the handle firmly.
    • For ground coffee: Use the reusable filter (if included). Fill with desired amount of ground coffee, insert into the pod holder, and close the handle.
  3. Place Mug: Place your coffee mug on the drip tray.
  4. Select Brew Size: Choose your desired brew size (4oz, 6oz, 8oz, 10oz, or 12oz) using the buttons on the control panel.
  5. Select Brew Strength/Temperature (if applicable):
    • LIGHT / CLASSIC / STRONG: Adjusts coffee strength.
    • WARM / HOT / PIPING HOT: Adjusts water temperature.
    • OVER ICE: For brewing over ice.
  6. Start Brewing: Press the BREW button to start the brewing process. The machine will automatically stop when the brew cycle is complete.
  7. Enjoy: Carefully remove your mug and enjoy your freshly brewed coffee.
  8. Stop Brewing: To stop brewing at any time, press the STOP button.

Using the Reusable Filter

The reusable filter allows you to use your own ground coffee. Ensure the filter is properly seated in the pod holder before closing the lid. After brewing, remove and clean the filter.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray after each use.
  • Pod Holder/Reusable Filter: Remove and rinse the pod holder or reusable filter after each use.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Descaling (Monthly or as needed)

Mineral deposits can build up over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly.

  1. Prepare Solution: Mix 1 cup of white vinegar with 2 cups of water, or use a descaling solution specifically designed for coffee makers.
  2. Fill Reservoir: Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir.
  3. Run Cycles: Place a large mug on the drip tray. Run several brew cycles (e.g., 10oz or 12oz) until the reservoir is empty. Do not insert a coffee pod.
  4. Rinse Cycles: After the descaling solution is used, fill the reservoir with fresh water and run several more brew cycles to rinse out any remaining solution.
