- Always disconnect the battery pack before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tool.
- Do not pump flammable liquids. This pump is designed for water and water/glycol mixtures only.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating the pump.
Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the pump's power switch is in the OFF position.
- Align the 20V MAX battery pack (sold separately) with the battery port on the pump.
- Slide the battery pack into the pump until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove, press the battery release button and slide the battery out.

2. Hose Connection
- Connect the intake hose to the inlet port of the pump. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
- Connect the discharge hose to the outlet port of the pump.
- Place the intake end of the hose into the liquid source (e.g., water tank, bucket).
- Direct the discharge end of the hose to the desired drainage or transfer location.
Operation
1. Priming the Pump
- The DEWALT Transfer Pump features a self-priming design. However, for optimal performance, ensure the pump is positioned below the liquid level or manually prime the pump by pouring a small amount of liquid into the inlet port before starting.
2. Starting the Pump
- Press the LED-embedded power switch to turn the pump ON. The LED will illuminate green when active.
- Monitor the flow of liquid. The pump can transfer up to 10 gallons per minute (GPM) of tap water.
- The pump is capable of transferring a 60% water / 40% propylene glycol mixture, suitable for HVAC and refrigeration applications.

3. Stopping the Pump
- Press the LED-embedded power switch again to turn the pump OFF. The LED will extinguish.
- Disconnect hoses and drain any remaining liquid from the pump and hoses.
4. Positioning the Pump
- The pump can be positioned horizontally or vertically for operation, providing versatility in various work environments.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Impeller
- If the pump's performance decreases or it becomes clogged, the impeller may need cleaning.
- Disconnect the battery pack.
- Remove the four screws securing the impeller cover.
- Carefully remove the impeller cover and the impeller.
- Clean any debris from the impeller and the pump housing.
- Reassemble the impeller and cover, ensuring all screws are tightened securely.

2. Storage
- After each use, drain all liquid from the pump and hoses to prevent freezing or corrosion.
- Store the pump in a dry, protected area away from extreme temperatures.
- Remove the battery pack during storage.
