4.2 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, wipe the interior and exterior surfaces with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Allow the interior to air dry completely.

4.3 Seasoning the Spanish Cedar Drawers

Spanish cedar requires seasoning to prevent it from absorbing moisture from your cigars. This process helps maintain the desired humidity level.

  1. Remove all Spanish cedar drawers from the humidor.
  2. Lightly wipe each cedar surface with a clean cloth dampened with distilled water. Do not saturate the wood.
  3. Allow the drawers to air dry completely for several hours. Repeat this process daily for 3-5 days.
  4. Alternatively, place a small dish of distilled water inside the humidor with the drawers for 3-5 days, ensuring the humidity reaches 70-75%.
  5. Once seasoned, return the drawers to the humidor.
