3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your QZT C10 Mini Wireless Camera:

1. Charge the Device: Before first use, fully charge the camera using the provided USB cable and a standard 5V USB power adapter. The camera supports charging while recording.
2. Insert SD Card (Optional for DV Mode): If you plan to use the camera in DV (Direct Video) mode without Wi-Fi, insert a Micro SD card (up to 256GB, not included) into the designated slot. Ensure the card is inserted correctly.
3. Download Tuya Smart App: Search for "Tuya Smart" in your mobile app store (iOS or Android) and download the application.
4. Create Account & Log In: Open the Tuya Smart App and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account or log in if you already have one.
5. Add Device: In the Tuya Smart App, tap the "+" icon to add a new device. Select the appropriate camera category.
6. Connect to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi: Follow the app's instructions to connect the camera to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Ensure your mobile device is also connected to the same 2.4GHz network during setup. Note: The camera is not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
7. Position the Camera: Utilize the flexible cable to position the camera lens as desired. The compact main unit can be discreetly placed.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

• To power on, slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'ON' position.
• To power off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position.

4.2 Wi-Fi Mode (Remote Viewing)

• Ensure the camera is connected to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network as per the setup instructions.
• Open the Tuya Smart App on your smartphone.
• Select your camera from the device list to access the live video feed.
• From the app, you can initiate video recording, take photographs, and adjust settings.

4.3 DV Mode (Local Recording)

• In DV mode, the camera records directly to an inserted Micro SD card without requiring a Wi-Fi connection.
• To start recording in DV mode, ensure an SD card is inserted and the camera is powered on. Refer to the product's specific button functions for initiating recording in this mode.
• Recordings are saved as AVI files.

4.4 Motion Detection

• Activate motion detection through the Tuya Smart App settings.
• When motion is detected, the camera will automatically start recording for up to 5 minutes and send a push notification to your smartphone.
• Recording stops after 60 seconds of stillness to conserve memory card space.

4.5 Night Vision Assist

• The camera features Night Vision Assist for recording in dim light. This function can be intelligently or manually switched to black and white mode via the app.
• Note: Night Vision Assist requires some ambient light and is not effective in completely dark environments.

4.6 Scheduled Tasks

• Configure timed power on and off schedules through the Tuya Smart App to automate camera operation and save energy.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and body. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the camera in a cool, dry place.
• Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the camera regularly, even if not in active use.
• SD Card Management: Regularly back up important recordings from the Micro SD card to a computer or cloud storage. Format the SD card periodically to maintain optimal performance.
• Firmware Updates: Check the Tuya Smart App for any available firmware updates to ensure your camera has the latest features and security enhancements.

6. Troubleshooting

• Camera not connecting to Wi-Fi:
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The camera does not support 5GHz networks.
  • Verify your Wi-Fi password is correct.
  • Move the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router.
  • Restart your router and the camera.
  • Perform a factory reset on the camera (refer to Figure 6 for reset button location) and attempt setup again.
• Poor video quality:
  • Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from dust or smudges.
  • Check your Wi-Fi signal strength; a weak signal can affect streaming quality.
  • Ensure adequate lighting for optimal image clarity, especially when Night Vision Assist is active.
• Motion detection alerts not received:
  • Verify motion detection is enabled in the Tuya Smart App settings.
  • Check your phone's notification settings to ensure the Tuya Smart App is allowed to send notifications.
  • Ensure the camera has a stable Wi-Fi connection.
• Camera not recording to SD card:
  • Ensure a Micro SD card is properly inserted and formatted (FAT32 recommended).
  • Check if the SD card has sufficient free space.
  • Try using a different, compatible SD card.
