4. Setup and Initial Configuration

4.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the ULTRADIAG main unit using the provided power adapter. Connect the adapter to the device's charging port and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. The charging indicator will illuminate.

4.2 Powering On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the Power button until the TOPDON logo appears on the screen.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power button, then select "Power Off" from the options that appear.

4.3 VCI Module Connection

The VCI module communicates wirelessly with the main unit. Ensure the VCI module is securely plugged into the vehicle's OBDII port. The VCI module typically has indicator lights to confirm power and communication status.

4.4 Network Connection

For software updates and online features, connect the ULTRADIAG to a Wi-Fi network:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Settings".
  2. Select "Wi-Fi" and turn it on.
  3. Choose your desired network and enter the password if prompted.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Vehicle Diagnostics

To perform a diagnostic scan:

  1. Connect the VCI module to the vehicle's OBDII port.
  2. Ensure the ULTRADIAG main unit is powered on and connected to the VCI.
  3. From the home screen, tap "Diagnostics".
  4. Select the vehicle make, model, and year as prompted.
  5. Choose "Full System Scan" or select specific modules (e.g., Engine, ABS, Airbag, TPMS) to scan.
  6. Review the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and live data.

5.2 Reset Functions

The ULTRADIAG supports over 30 reset functions. To access these:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Maintenance".
  2. Select the desired reset function (e.g., Oil Reset, EPB Reset, BMS Reset, DPF Regeneration, ABS Bleeding, Injector Coding, AdBlue Reset).
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully to complete the procedure.

5.3 Software Updates

Regular software updates ensure optimal performance and compatibility with new vehicle models. To update:

  1. Ensure the device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.
  2. From the home screen, tap "Update".
  3. Select the available updates and follow the prompts to install them.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the screen and exterior of the device. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the ULTRADIAG in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the device frequently. Charge it regularly.
