Introduction

Thank you for choosing the KEENSTAR Nugget Ice Maker. This appliance is designed to produce soft, chewable nugget ice for your home, office, parties, or RV. With a capacity of up to 40 lbs of ice per 24 hours and a 2.1L water tank, it ensures a continuous supply of fresh ice. This manual provides important information on setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure safe and efficient use of your ice maker.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the ice maker from its packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the ice maker on a flat, stable, and level surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit (at least 6 inches of space on all sides). Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.

    The unit dimensions are approximately 14.6 inches (37 cm) deep, 11 inches (28 cm) wide, and 9.4 inches (24 cm) high.

  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, it is recommended to clean the interior of the ice maker. Refer to the "Maintenance" section for detailed cleaning instructions. It is normal for the first batch of ice to have a slight taste; discard the first batch of ice produced.
  4. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with clean, potable water up to the MAX fill line. Do not overfill.
  5. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet (120 Volts).

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Press the ON/OFF Button on the control panel to turn on the ice maker. The Power indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Ice Production: Once powered on and water is in the reservoir, the ice maker will automatically begin the ice-making process. Fresh ice can be produced in as little as 12 minutes.

    The ice maker has a daily production capacity of up to 40 lbs of nugget ice.

  3. Indicator Lights:
    • If the Add Water indicator light illuminates, the water reservoir is low. Refill with water to continue ice production.
    • If the Ice Full indicator light illuminates, the ice basket is full. Remove ice from the basket to resume production.
  4. Ice Collection: Once ice is produced, pull out the removable ice basket to collect the nugget ice.
  5. Automatic Restart: For maximum water efficiency, unused ice will slowly melt back into the reservoir, and ice production will restart automatically when the ice level drops or water is added.
  6. Power Off: Press the ON/OFF Button again to turn off the ice maker.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your ice maker and ensure fresh-tasting ice.

Automatic Self-Cleaning Function

  1. Ensure there is water in the reservoir.
  2. Press and hold the 'SELFCLEAN' button on the control panel for more than 3 seconds.
  3. The cleaning cycle will begin and typically takes about 7 minutes to complete. The Cleaning indicator light will be active.
  4. After the cycle, drain the water from the unit using the drain plug at the bottom.
