4. Setup
4.1 Attaching a Cordless Drill
The TrueCoat 360 Cordless Connect is designed to be powered by your own cordless drill/driver or impact driver. Ensure your drill has a minimum speed of 1400 RPM for optimal performance.

Figure 4: The sprayer is compatible with 1/4" drill/drivers and 1/4" impact drivers. A minimum of 1400 RPM is required.

Figure 5: Choose a drill/driver for slower speeds and more control, or an impact driver for larger projects and faster pace.
- Align the sprayer's drive shaft with the chuck of your cordless drill.
- Securely tighten the drill chuck around the drive shaft.
- Ensure the connection is firm to prevent slippage during operation.
4.2 Preparing Paint or Stain
The TrueCoat 360 is designed to spray unthinned paint or stain. However, it is crucial to always consult the paint or stain manufacturer's instructions and recommendations for thinning, especially for thicker materials. Some paints, despite general claims, may require thinning for optimal performance and to prevent damage to the sprayer. Use the Easy Fill Funnel and Strainer System to strain your material, preventing clogs.
4.3 Filling the FlexLiner Bag
- Insert a new 32-ounce FlexLiner bag into the paint cup.
- Pour your prepared paint or stain into the FlexLiner bag. Do not overfill.
- Attach the paint cup assembly to the sprayer unit, ensuring it is securely fastened.
4.4 Priming the Sprayer
Priming removes air from the system and prepares the sprayer for use.
- Ensure the spray tip is removed.
- Set the sprayer to the "Prime" setting.
- Point the sprayer into a waste container.
- Activate your drill to run the sprayer until a steady stream of material flows from the tip opening, indicating all air has been purged.
- Release the drill trigger and set the sprayer to the "Spray" setting.
- Install the desired paint or stain tip.
5. Operation
5.1 Spraying Techniques
Maintain a consistent distance and speed for an even finish. Overlap each pass by approximately 50%.

Figure 6: The sprayer allows for spraying in any direction, including upside down, thanks to VacuValve technology. Ensure your drill meets the minimum 1400 RPM requirement.

Figure 7: Using a drill/driver allows for a slower pace and more control, ideal for detailed work like spraying cabinet doors.
VacuValve Technology
The exclusive VacuValve technology, combined with the FlexLiner system, allows you to spray in any direction, even upside down, without losing prime or experiencing sputtering. This is particularly useful for ceilings, undersides of furniture, or other awkward angles.

- Rinse: Fill a new FlexLiner bag with appropriate cleaning solution (water for latex, mineral spirits for oil-based paints).

- Clean Tip: Remove the spray tip and guard. Clean them thoroughly with a brush and cleaning solution.
- External Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the sprayer with a damp cloth.

- Storage: Store the sprayer in a clean, dry place.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No spray or weak spray | Clogged tip, clogged inlet filter, air in system, insufficient material. | Clean tip and filter. Re-prime the sprayer. Ensure FlexLiner has enough material. |
| Sputtering spray | Air in system, low material, loose connections. | Re-prime the sprayer. Check FlexLiner material level. Ensure all connections are tight. |
| Poor spray pattern | Clogged tip, incorrect tip size, material too thick. | Clean or replace tip. Ensure material consistency is appropriate for spraying. Refer to paint manufacturer's recommendations for thinning if necessary, despite general claims of no thinning required. |
| Sprayer not engaging with drill | Drill chuck not tightened, drill RPM too low. | Ensure drill chuck is securely tightened. Verify drill meets minimum 1400 RPM requirement. |
