5.2 Frothing Milk with the Steam Wand
- Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
- Activate Steam: Press the steam button on the touch screen. Wait for the machine to reach steaming temperature (indicator light will change).
- Purge Steam Wand: Briefly open the steam knob to release any condensed water. Close it immediately.
- Position Wand: Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk.
- Start Frothing: Open the steam knob fully. Keep the wand tip near the surface to create microfoam, then lower it slightly to heat the milk.
- Monitor Temperature: Continue until the milk reaches the desired temperature (around 60-65°C or 140-150°F). The pitcher will be hot to the touch.
- Stop Steaming: Close the steam knob, then remove the pitcher.
- Clean Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Briefly open the steam knob again to clear any milk from inside.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your espresso machine.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove spent coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter baskets under hot water. Wipe clean.
- Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Briefly open the steam knob to purge any milk residue from the nozzle.
- Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily or when the indicator shows it's full.
- Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily and refill with fresh water.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
6.2 Descaling
Descaling is essential to remove mineral buildup and should be performed regularly, depending on water hardness and usage (e.g., every 2-3 months).
- Prepare Descaling Solution: Mix a descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions (or use white vinegar diluted with water).
- Fill Water Tank: Pour the descaling solution into the water tank.
- Run Solution: Place a large container under the group head and steam wand. Run half of the solution through the group head by pressing the brew button. Then, run the remaining half through the steam wand.
- Rinse: After descaling, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill with fresh water. Run several full tanks of fresh water through both the group head and steam wand to remove any descaling solution residue.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water flow / Machine not brewing | Water tank empty or not properly seated; machine needs priming; clogged filter basket or group head. | Refill water tank and ensure it's seated correctly. Run a rinse cycle to prime. Clean portafilter and group head. Descale if necessary. |
| Espresso extracts too slowly or not at all | Coffee grounds too fine or too much coffee; coffee tamped too hard; clogged filter. | Use coarser grind; reduce coffee amount; tamp lighter. Clean filter basket. |
| Espresso extracts too quickly / Weak coffee | Coffee grounds too coarse or too little coffee; coffee not tamped enough. | Use finer grind; increase coffee amount; tamp more firmly. |
| No steam from wand | Steam wand clogged; machine not at steaming temperature. | Clean steam wand nozzle with a pin. Wait for the machine to heat up fully for steam. |
| Machine leaks water | Water tank not seated correctly; drip tray full; seal issues. | Ensure water tank is firmly in place. Empty drip tray. Contact customer support if leak persists. |
