7.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray regularly. It is removable for easy cleaning.
  • Portafilter and Filters: After each use, remove the portafilter and discard the coffee puck. Rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Purge the wand briefly to clear any internal milk residue.
  • Grinder Exit Chute: Wipe the grinder exit chute to ensure zero retention and prevent clogs.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

7.2 Descaling

Regular descaling is essential to maintain the performance and longevity of your espresso machine, especially in areas with hard water. Refer to the full product manual for detailed descaling instructions and recommended descaling solutions.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TENKER CM5520, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • No Power: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet and the machine is switched on.
  • No Water Flow: Check if the water tank is filled and properly seated. Ensure no air bubbles are trapped in the system by running hot water through the steam wand.
  • Coffee Not Brewing: Verify the portafilter is correctly installed and locked. Check if the water tank is empty.
  • Weak Espresso/Too Fast Flow: Adjust the grind size to be finer and ensure the coffee is tamped firmly.
  • Steam Wand Not Producing Steam: Ensure the 'Steam' button has been pressed and the machine has heated up sufficiently before turning the steam knob. Check for blockages in the steam wand nozzle.
  • Soupy Coffee Puck: This can sometimes occur with pressurized portafilters. Ensure proper grind size and tamping. A third-party puck screen may help.
