1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Fortdows 4G+64G QLED Radio. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper functionality and safety. This unit is designed to enhance your driving experience with advanced features and seamless integration.

2. Compatibility & Important Notes

This Fortdows car radio is specifically designed for Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra models from 2014 to 2018. It retains original vehicle functions, including steering wheel controls (SWC) and the factory camera system.

2.1 BOSE System Compatibility

Important Note:

This unit is not compatible with original BOSE sound systems without an additional fiber optic interface. If your vehicle is equipped with a BOSE system, an additional fiber optic interface (ASIN: B0DJVH6Y18) is required. Failure to install this interface will result in no audio output after installation.

4. Setup & Installation

Installation of the Fortdows QLED Radio involves removing the factory radio and connecting the new unit using the provided harnesses. Professional installation is recommended.

4.1 Pre-Installation Steps

1. Disconnect the vehicle's battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Carefully remove the dashboard trim and factory radio using appropriate tools (e.g., the provided crowbar).
3. Inspect the vehicle's wiring harness and compare it with the provided power cable harness.

4.2 Connecting the Unit

1. Connect the main power harness to the vehicle's wiring.
2. Attach the GPS antenna to the designated port on the radio and route it to a location with a clear view of the sky.
3. Connect the backup camera cable to the radio's video input and route the camera to the rear of the vehicle.
4. Connect any additional accessories such as USB cables or external microphone.
5. If your vehicle has a BOSE system, ensure the fiber optic interface (sold separately) is correctly installed between the radio and the vehicle's audio system.

4.3 Post-Installation

1. Mount the QLED radio securely into the dashboard opening.
2. Reinstall the dashboard trim.
3. Reconnect the vehicle's battery.
4. Power on the unit and perform initial setup and testing.

5. Operating Instructions

Your Fortdows QLED Radio offers a range of features for an enhanced in-car experience.

5.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the physical power button (usually a rotary knob) on the unit to turn it on or off. A short press typically mutes or unmutes the audio.

5.2 WiFi Connection

To access online features, connect the unit to a WiFi network:

1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
2. Select your desired network and enter the password if prompted.

5.3 Bluetooth 5.4 & Hands-Free Calls

Pair your smartphone via Bluetooth for hands-free calling and audio streaming:

1. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone and make it discoverable.
2. On the radio, go to Settings > Connected devices > Bluetooth.
3. Select your phone from the list of available devices and confirm the pairing code.

5.4 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

Connect your smartphone wirelessly for an integrated experience:

1. Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone.
2. Open the CarPlay or Android Auto application on the radio.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect your device.

5.5 Dual-mode Navigation

The unit supports both offline and online navigation:

• Offline Navigation: Utilizes the pre-installed North America maps with the high-sensitivity GPS + GLONASS antenna.
• Online Navigation: Connect to 5G dual-band WiFi for real-time traffic updates via Google Maps and other navigation apps.

5.6 FM/AM Radio

Access local radio stations:

1. Open the Radio application.
2. Use the on-screen controls to scan for stations or manually tune to a frequency.
3. Save your favorite stations as presets.

5.7 Sound Settings (EQ)

Customize your audio experience with the built-in equalizer:

1. Access the EQ or Sound Settings application.
2. Adjust the 32-band EQ, select from 7 professional sound modes (Jazz, Pop, Classical, etc.), or fine-tune bass/treble and soundstage.

5.8 Steering Wheel Control (SWC)

The unit supports your vehicle's existing steering wheel controls. This allows you to adjust volume, skip songs, or answer calls without taking your hands off the wheel. Configuration may be required in the settings menu.

5.10 Backup Camera

The included 1080P AHD rear camera provides a clear view when reversing. The screen automatically switches to the rear view when the vehicle is put into reverse gear.
