Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Main Display Unit: Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit. Insert the required batteries (e.g., 3 x AAA, refer to device for exact type) according to the polarity indicators (+/-). Close the compartment.
- Wireless Remote Sensors: Open the battery compartment on each remote sensor. Insert the required batteries (e.g., 2 x AA per sensor, refer to device for exact type) according to the polarity indicators (+/-). Close the compartment.
Note: It is recommended to use high-quality alkaline batteries for optimal performance and longer battery life.
2. Sensor Placement
- Place the main display unit indoors in a central location, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, for accurate indoor readings.
- Position the remote sensors outdoors or in other desired locations (e.g., basement, greenhouse). Ensure they are protected from direct rain and sunlight.
- The maximum wireless transmission range is up to 200 feet (60 meters) in open air. Walls, metal objects, and electronic devices can reduce this range.
3. Initial Synchronization
After installing batteries, the main unit will automatically search for and connect to the remote sensors. This process may take a few minutes. Ensure all sensors are within range during initial setup. If a sensor does not connect, try removing and reinserting its batteries, or moving it closer to the main unit.
Operating Instructions
1. LCD Display Overview
The 5-inch large LCD display shows indoor temperature and humidity, along with readings from up to three remote sensors. It also displays Max/Min records, trend arrows, and a comfort indicator.
2. Backlight Function
The display features an 8-second backlight for easy reading in low-light conditions. Press any button to activate the backlight.
3. Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F)
Press the "MEM" button (or a dedicated °C/°F button if present) to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) temperature units.
4. Max/Min Records
The device records the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values over the past 24 hours. Press the "MEM" button repeatedly to cycle through current, maximum (MAX), and minimum (MIN) readings for both indoor and outdoor sensors. The Max/Min data will update every 24 hours automatically.
5. Trend Arrows
Trend arrows indicate whether the temperature and humidity are rising, falling, or remaining stable. An upward arrow indicates rising, a downward arrow indicates falling, and a horizontal arrow indicates stable conditions.
6. Comfort Indicator
The comfort indicator provides a quick visual assessment of your home's living conditions based on temperature and humidity levels.
7. Temperature & Humidity Alerts (Alarm Function)
You can set custom maximum and minimum temperature and humidity alert values. When the measured value reaches or exceeds these pre-set limits, an audible alarm will sound. Refer to the device's specific button layout for setting these alerts (e.g., "ALERT" or "SET" button).
Maintenance
1. Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries in the main unit or the respective sensor. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the Setup section.
2. Cleaning
Wipe the display unit and sensors with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the plastic components or the LCD screen.
3. Storage
If the device will not be used for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage and store it in a cool, dry place.
Troubleshooting
- No Display: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are fresh.
- Incorrect Readings: Ensure sensors are placed away from direct heat sources, cold drafts, or direct sunlight. Allow time for readings to stabilize after placement.
- Sensor Not Connecting:
- Ensure sensors are within the 200ft/60m wireless range.
- Check sensor batteries.
- Reduce obstacles between the main unit and sensors (e.g., thick walls, large metal objects).
- Try re-synchronizing by removing and reinserting batteries in both the main unit and sensors.
- Backlight Not Working: Ensure batteries are not low.
