Maintenance and Storage

Proper care will extend the life of your Halloween decoration.

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
  • Outdoor Use: While designed for outdoor use, it is recommended to bring the decoration indoors during severe weather conditions (heavy rain, strong winds, snow) to prevent damage.
  • Storage: When not in use, remove batteries to prevent corrosion. Store the Grim Reaper in its original packaging or a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

If your Grim Reaper is not functioning as expected, consider the following:

  • No Power/Activation:
    • Check if batteries are inserted correctly with the proper polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with fresh ones.
    • Ensure the battery compartment cover is securely closed.
  • Sound Activation Issues:
    • Ensure there is sufficient ambient sound to trigger the sensor.
    • Test in a quieter environment and make a distinct sound (e.g., clap) near the unit.
  • Movement/Light Issues:
    • Verify that no parts are obstructed or tangled.
    • Check battery levels, as low power can affect motor and light performance.
