4. Setup

4.1 Placement

The soundbar can be placed on a flat surface, such as a TV stand, or mounted on a wall. Ensure the soundbar is positioned centrally below your television for the best audio experience. Do not obstruct the front grille or rear ports.

4.2 Connecting to a TV

Choose one of the following connection methods:

  1. HDMI ARC (Recommended):
    • Connect an HDMI cable (not included) from the HDMI ARC port on your TV to the HDMI ARC (TV) port on the soundbar.
    • Ensure your TV's HDMI ARC/CEC function is enabled in its settings. This allows your TV remote to control the soundbar's power and volume.
  2. Optical:
    • Connect an optical digital cable (not included) from the OPTICAL OUT port on your TV to the OPTICAL port on the soundbar.
    • Select 'Optical' as the audio output on your TV.
  3. AUX IN:
    • Connect a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) from the headphone jack or AUX OUT port on your TV to the AUX IN port on the soundbar.

4.3 Power Connection

  • Connect the power cable to the AC IN port on the soundbar.
  • Plug the other end of the power cable into a wall outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the Power button (⏻) on the soundbar or the remote control to turn the unit on or off.

5.2 Input Selection

  • Press the Input/Source button (⏸/*) on the soundbar or the remote control repeatedly to cycle through the available input sources: HDMI ARC, Optical, Bluetooth, AUX, USB.
  • The corresponding indicator light on the soundbar will illuminate to show the selected input.

5.3 Volume Control

  • Press the Volume Up (+) or Volume Down (-) buttons on the soundbar or remote control to adjust the volume.

5.4 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Turn on the soundbar and select the Bluetooth input. The Bluetooth indicator will flash, indicating it is in pairing mode.
  2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), search for available Bluetooth devices.
  3. Select "SHARP HT-SB121" from the list. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator on the soundbar will glow steadily.

5.5 USB Playback

  • Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port on the rear of the soundbar.
  • Select the USB input source. The soundbar will automatically begin playing compatible audio files from the USB drive.

5.6 Roku TV Ready Functionality

  • The SHARP HT-SB121 is certified Roku TV Ready, allowing for seamless integration with Roku TVs.
  • When connected via HDMI ARC to a Roku TV, the soundbar can be easily set up and controlled directly through the Roku TV's sound settings and remote control.

6. Wall Mounting

The soundbar can be mounted on a wall using the provided wall mount kit. Follow these general guidelines:

  • Preparation: Use the included wall mounting template to mark the drilling positions on the wall. Ensure the wall material can support the weight of the soundbar.
  • Drilling: Drill pilot holes at the marked positions.
  • Mounting Brackets: Secure the wall mounting brackets to the wall using appropriate screws and wall anchors (if necessary).
  • Attach Soundbar: Carefully align the soundbar with the mounted brackets and secure it in place.
  • Cable Management: Route cables neatly to avoid strain or damage.
