Model: ADT1000

Introduction and Safety Information

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your EGO Power+ ADT1000 Tow Behind Utility Cart. Please read and understand all instructions before using the product. Retain this manual for future reference.

The EGO Power+ ADT1000 is designed for hauling various materials such as mulch, soil, plants, rocks, firewood, and tools around your property. It is intended for use with EGO POWER+ Zero Turn Mowers and Lawn Tractors.

General Safety Guidelines

  • Always ensure the cart is securely attached to the towing vehicle before operation.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 450 pounds (7 cubic feet). Overloading can lead to instability and damage.
  • Maintain a maximum towing speed of 8 MPH. Exceeding this speed can compromise control and safety.
  • Distribute loads evenly in the cart to maintain balance and stability.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and terrain conditions. Avoid steep slopes or uneven ground that could cause the cart to tip.
  • Keep hands and feet clear of moving parts, especially during loading, unloading, and towing.

Operating Instructions

Follow these guidelines for safe and efficient operation of your utility cart.

Loading the Cart

  • Ensure the cart is on level ground before loading.
  • Distribute the load evenly across the 7 cubic foot bed to maintain balance.
  • Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 450 pounds.
  • Avoid loading materials that could damage the polypropylene bed, such as sharp objects without proper protection.

Towing

  • Always operate the towing vehicle at a safe speed, not exceeding 8 MPH.
  • Be mindful of the increased length and weight of your vehicle with the attached cart, especially when turning or backing up.
  • Avoid sudden starts or stops, which can cause the cart to sway or tip.
  • Exercise caution on uneven terrain, slopes, or near obstacles.

Unloading the Cart

The cart features a foot-controlled load release mechanism for easy, hands-free unloading.

  1. Position the cart at the desired dumping location.
  2. Engage the foot-controlled release pedal. This will unlock the bed.
  3. The bed will tilt, allowing the contents to slide out due to the steep dumping angle.
  4. Once unloaded, push the bed back into its locked position. Ensure it is securely latched before moving the cart.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your EGO Power+ ADT1000 Utility Cart.

Cleaning

  • After each use, clean the polypropylene bed to remove dirt, debris, or corrosive materials.
  • The heavy-duty compression-molded poly bed resists rust and dents, making it easy to clean with water and mild soap.
  • Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry before storage.

Inspection and Lubrication

  • Periodically inspect all fasteners, bolts, and pins for tightness. Tighten as necessary.
  • Check the tires for proper inflation and wear. The durable 13 inch x 4 inch treaded tires are designed for various terrains.
  • Lubricate moving parts, such as the axle and the foot-controlled release mechanism, with a suitable lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Inspect the steel frame and axle for any signs of damage or corrosion.

Storage

  • Store the utility cart in a dry, covered area to protect it from weather elements when not in use.
