4. Setup

4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the supplied USB Type-C charging cable to the speaker's Type-C port and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The LCD display will indicate charging status. A full charge typically takes several hours.

4.2 Power On/Off

To power on the device, rotate the rotary knob clockwise. To power off, rotate the rotary knob counter-clockwise until it clicks.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 General Controls

  • Rotary Knob: Controls power on/off and volume adjustment.
  • Number Keypad: Used for direct FM station selection, song selection, and other numerical inputs.
  • Mode (M) Button: Cycles through available modes (FM, Bluetooth, USB, TF Card).
  • Play/Pause Button: Controls playback in media modes.
  • Previous/Next Buttons: Navigates tracks or FM stations.

5.2 FM Radio Mode

  1. Switching to FM Mode: Press the M (Mode) button until "FM" appears on the LCD display.
  2. Auto-Scan: In FM mode, press and hold the Play/Pause button to initiate an automatic scan for available FM stations. The device will scan and save stations with strong signals.
  3. Manual Tuning: Use the Previous/Next buttons to fine-tune the frequency or navigate through saved stations.
  4. Direct Station Selection: Use the number keypad to directly enter the frequency of a desired FM station.
  5. Deleting Stations: Refer to the on-screen menu or specific instructions in the full owner's manual for deleting unwanted scanned stations.

5.3 Bluetooth Mode

  1. Switching to Bluetooth Mode: Press the M (Mode) button until "BT" or a Bluetooth icon appears on the LCD display. The device will enter pairing mode.
  2. Pairing: On your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device, search for available Bluetooth devices and select "CUBETEK Grenade 2.0" to pair.
  3. Playback: Once paired, you can play audio from your connected device. Use the speaker's controls or your device's controls for playback.
  4. Call Feature: The speaker supports hands-free calling when connected via Bluetooth.

  1. Inserting Media: Insert a USB flash drive or a TF (microSD) card (up to 32GB) into the corresponding slot. The device will automatically switch to USB or TF Card mode, or you may need to select it using the M button.
  2. Folder Navigation: The LCD display allows you to view song names and navigate through folders. Use the navigation buttons to browse.
  3. Song Selection: Select songs directly from the display or use the number keypad for quick access.

5.5 Earphone Port

Connect wired earphones to the dedicated earphone port for private listening. The speaker's sound output will automatically switch to the earphones.

5.6 Special Features

  • SLEEP Mode: Allows you to set a timer for the device to automatically power off. Consult the full manual for specific settings.
  • A-B Repeat: Enables repeating a specific segment of an audio track.

6. Maintenance

  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
  • Storage: Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the device is charged. Check the rotary knob is turned to the ON position.
  • No Sound: Check the volume level. Ensure the correct mode is selected. If using Bluetooth, verify the device is paired and connected.
  • Poor FM Reception: Reposition the speaker. The USB charging cable can be connected to the charging port and extended to act as an external antenna for improved reception.
  • Bluetooth Pairing Issues: Ensure the speaker is in Bluetooth mode and discoverable. Turn off and on Bluetooth on your connecting device.
  • USB/TF Card Not Reading: Ensure the media is inserted correctly. Check if the file format is supported. The card/drive should be formatted to FAT32.
