5. Operating Instructions

The KYBOLT Pergola features a retractable canopy for adjustable shade.

  • To Extend the Canopy: Gently pull the attached strap(s) to slide the canopy fabric along the rails until it reaches the desired extension.
  • To Retract the Canopy: Push the canopy fabric back along the rails. The fabric will neatly fold, allowing for full sun exposure.
  • Securing the Canopy: Use the hook locking design to secure the canopy in its desired position, preventing unwanted movement.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will prolong the life and appearance of your pergola.

  • Cleaning the Frame: Wipe the aluminum frame with a damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry to prevent water spots. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Cleaning the Canopy: The UPF 50+ waterproof canopy can be cleaned with a soft brush, mild soap, and water. Allow it to air dry completely before retracting or storing.
  • Seasonal Care: In regions with harsh winters or extreme weather, it is recommended to remove and store the canopy fabric indoors to prevent damage.
  • Hardware Check: Periodically inspect all bolts, screws, and connections for tightness. Re-tighten as needed to maintain structural integrity.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your pergola, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Canopy not retracting/extending smoothly: Check the canopy rails for obstructions or debris. Ensure the rollers are clean and properly seated. Lubricate the rails if necessary with a silicone-based spray.
  • Pergola feels unstable: Verify that all frame connections are securely tightened. Ensure the base columns are properly anchored to the ground. Re-check the ground surface for levelness.
  • Water pooling on canopy: Ensure the canopy is properly tensioned and angled to allow for water runoff. If the issue persists, check for any sagging in the support bars.
  • Missing parts during assembly: Double-check the packaging and parts list. If parts are genuinely missing, contact KYBOLT customer support immediately.
