1. Introduction

The SEVERIN Black Line FR 2461 is a compact hot air fryer designed for healthy and versatile cooking. Utilizing hot air technology, it allows for fast preparation of various dishes without the need for excessive oil or fat. With its intuitive touch control and 8 automatic programs, it simplifies the cooking process for fries, bacon, chicken, steak, vegetables, fish, frozen foods, and cakes. This manual provides essential information for safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

2. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using the appliance to prevent personal injury or damage to the appliance.

  • Always place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or other appliances to allow for proper ventilation.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Keep children and pets away from the appliance during operation.
  • Do not block the air inlet or outlet vents during operation.
  • Do not fill the basket with oil or fat, as this can cause a fire hazard.
  • Always unplug the appliance when not in use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool down completely before handling or cleaning.
  • Do not operate the appliance if the cord or plug is damaged, or if the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any way.
  • Use only original accessories and spare parts.
  • Hot steam is released through the air outlet opening during hot air frying. Keep your hands and face at a safe distance from the steam and the air outlet openings.

3.2 Control Panel

The intuitive touch control panel allows for easy adjustment of settings and selection of programs.

  • Digital Display: Shows temperature, time, and program icons.
  • Temperature Control (+/-): Adjusts cooking temperature (60°C to 200°C).
  • Time Control (+/-): Adjusts cooking time.
  • MENU Button: Cycles through the 8 preset cooking programs.
  • Power/Start/Pause Button: Turns the appliance on/off and starts/pauses cooking.
  • Shake Reminder Icon: Illuminates when it's time to shake the basket for even cooking.

4. Setup and First Use

Before using your air fryer for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Unpack: Remove all packaging materials, stickers, and labels from the appliance.
  2. Clean: Wash the frying basket thoroughly with hot water, dish soap, and a non-abrasive sponge. Wipe the inside and outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  3. Placement: Place the air fryer on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is at least 10 cm of free space at the back and sides, and above the appliance for proper air circulation.
  4. Pre-heating (First Use): For the first use, it is recommended to run the appliance empty for about 10-15 minutes at 180°C to burn off any manufacturing residues. A slight odor may be present, which is normal. Ensure good ventilation during this process.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

  1. Prepare Food: Place the ingredients into the frying basket. Do not overfill the basket to ensure even cooking.
  2. Insert Basket: Slide the frying basket back into the main unit until it clicks into place.
  3. Power On: Plug the appliance into a grounded wall outlet. The display will light up.
  4. Set Temperature and Time: Use the temperature (+/-) buttons to set the desired cooking temperature (e.g., 180°C). Use the time (+/-) buttons to set the desired cooking time (e.g., 15 minutes).
  5. Start Cooking: Press the Power/Start/Pause button to begin the cooking process. The fan and heating element will activate.
