Detection Principle: The U-shaped sensor contains an infrared light emitter on one side and a receiver on the opposite side. When an object passes through the trough, it interrupts the light beam.

When an object interrupts the light beam, the output switches to a closed state (low impedance, connected to GND), signaling detection to the connected control circuit.
