5. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your sterilizer.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Remove the baskets and lid. Wipe the heating plate and interior of the main body with a damp cloth to remove any water residue. Wash baskets and lid with warm soapy water and rinse.
- Descaling: Limescale buildup can occur on the heating plate, especially if tap water is used. To descale, mix 50ml of white vinegar with 100ml of water. Pour the solution onto the heating plate and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Do not turn on the unit. Scrub gently with a soft brush or sponge, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary. Using distilled water for operation significantly reduces limescale.
- Filter Maintenance: The integrated air filter helps maintain sterility. Refer to the full product manual for specific instructions on cleaning or replacing the filter. Ensure the filter is clean and unobstructed for effective sterile storage.
- Storage: When not in use, ensure the unit is clean and dry. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Grownsy sterilizer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet issue; unit malfunction. | Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check the circuit breaker. If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
| Sterilization cycle does not start or stops prematurely. | Insufficient water; lid not properly closed; overheating. | Ensure the correct amount of distilled water is added. Check that the lid is securely closed. Allow the unit to cool down if it has been used recently. |
| Items are not completely dry after drying cycle. | Overloaded unit; items not properly arranged; drying cycle too short. | Do not overload the baskets. Arrange items to allow air circulation. Select a longer drying cycle if available (e.g., Deep Sterilization + Drying). |
| Brown stains or residue on the heating plate. | Limescale buildup from tap water. | Descale the heating plate as described in the "Cleaning and Maintenance" section. Always use distilled water to prevent this. |
| Unpleasant odor during operation. | New unit odor; residue from previous use. | For first use, run a sterilization cycle with only water. Ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned before placing them in the sterilizer. |
