1. Setup
Before first use, carefully unpack all components and ensure all parts are present. It is recommended to clean all removable parts before initial operation.
1.1 Component Identification
Your COWSAR Espresso Machine CM8050H includes the following components:
- Coffee Machine with Built-in Grinder
- 58mm Portafilter
- Tamper
- Stainless Steel Milk Jug
- 1 & 2 cup Single & Dual Wall Filter Baskets
- Cleaning Needle for Steam Nozzle

1.2 Initial Cleaning and Water Tank Setup
Wash all removable parts (portafilter, filter baskets, water tank, drip tray) with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly. The water tank has a capacity of 75 oz (2.2 liters). Fill the removable water tank with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line.

Ensure the yellow cap at the bottom of the machine is removed before first use to allow proper water flow.

2. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to brew your perfect espresso, cappuccino, or latte.
2.1 Power On and Preheating
Press the ON/OFF button to power on the machine. The machine will begin preheating. The Espresso Heating indicator will illuminate when the machine is ready for brewing (approximately 90 seconds).

2.2 Grinding Coffee Beans
The machine features a built-in grinder with 30 adjustable grind settings. Add fresh coffee beans to the bean hopper. Select your desired grind size using the adjustment knob on the side of the machine. Place the portafilter under the grinder outlet and press the "Grind" button to dispense freshly ground coffee into the portafilter.

Use the included tamper to firmly press the ground coffee in the portafilter. Ensure the coffee is level and compact for optimal extraction.
2.3 Brewing Espresso
Attach the portafilter to the brewing head by aligning it and twisting firmly to lock. Place your cup(s) on the drip tray beneath the portafilter. Select either "1 Cup" for a single shot or "2 Cups" for a double shot. The machine will automatically pre-infuse the coffee grounds before full extraction, ensuring a balanced flavor.

2.4 Milk Frothing and Hot Water Function
To froth milk, press the "Steam" button. Once the steam indicator is ready, immerse the steam wand into your milk jug (filled with cold milk) and turn the steam knob on the side of the machine. Move the jug to create a vortex for creamy microfoam. Turn off the steam when desired temperature/texture is reached.

The machine also provides a hot water function. Turn the steam knob to the hot water icon to dispense hot water for tea or Americanos.
2.5 PID Precision Temperature Control
The advanced PID controller maintains a stable brewing temperature, ensuring optimal flavor extraction. No user adjustment is typically needed for this feature during normal operation.

2.6 Cup Warmer
The top surface of the machine acts as a cup warmer. Place your espresso cups here to preheat them, which helps maintain the temperature of your brewed coffee.

3. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your espresso machine.
3.1 Cleaning
The drip tray and water pan are detachable for easy cleaning. Regularly empty and clean these components. Use the provided cleaning needle for the steam nozzle and the cleaning brush for other parts to prevent clogs.

The machine has a self-cleaning function. To activate, press and hold both the "1 Cup" and "2 Cups" buttons simultaneously. The indicator light will illuminate, and the machine will automatically increase water temperature, circulate water, and discharge it through the milk frother.
