4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly set up and install your DEWENWILS Outdoor Digital Power Stake Timer.
4.1 Assembling the Stake

- Connect the two sections of the stake by twisting them together until secure.
- Attach the assembled stake to the bottom of the timer unit by twisting it into place.
4.2 Ground Installation

- Choose a suitable outdoor location with firm ground.
- Insert the pointed end of the stake firmly into the ground, ensuring the timer unit is stable and upright.
- Ensure the bottom of the timer unit, where the outlets are located, is at least 1 foot (30 cm) above ground level to prevent water ingress.
4.3 Wall Mounting (Optional)

If ground installation is not preferred, the timer can be wall-mounted:
- Locate the mounting holes on the back of the timer unit.
- Use appropriate screws (not included) to securely fasten the timer to a wall or sturdy vertical surface. Ensure the mounting location is protected from direct heavy rain if possible, and that the unit remains upright.
4.4 Connecting Power and Devices

- Plug the timer's 6FT extension cord into a grounded outdoor electrical outlet.
- Open the clear protective cover.
- Plug your outdoor lights or appliances into the 6 grounded outlets on the timer.
- Ensure the total wattage of all connected devices does not exceed 1800W (15A).
- Close the protective cover securely to maintain weatherproof integrity.
5. Operating Instructions
The timer features a digital display and several buttons for setting the clock and programming schedules.

5.1 Button Functions:
- CLOCK: Used to set the current time and day.
- PROG: Used to enter and exit programming mode for ON/OFF schedules.
- MANUAL: Toggles between ON, OFF, and AUTO modes.
- WEEK: In CLOCK mode, sets the current day. In PROG mode, selects days for a program.
- HOUR: Adjusts the hour.
- MIN: Adjusts the minute.
- R (Reset Program): Clears the current program setting.
- RESET: Clears all settings and resets the timer to factory defaults. Use a pointed object (e.g., pen tip) to press.
5.2 Setting the Current Time and Day:
- Press the CLOCK button. The display will show the current time.
- While holding the CLOCK button, press WEEK to set the current day (MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU).
- While holding the CLOCK button, press HOUR to set the current hour (12-hour format with AM/PM).
- While holding the CLOCK button, press MIN to set the current minute.
- Release the CLOCK button to save the settings.
5.3 Manual Mode:
Press the MANUAL button to cycle through the following modes:
- ON: All connected devices will remain ON continuously, overriding any programmed schedules.
- OFF: All connected devices will remain OFF continuously, overriding any programmed schedules.
- AUTO: The timer will operate according to the programmed ON/OFF schedules. This is the default and recommended mode for automated operation.
6. Programming the Timer
The timer allows for up to 8 distinct ON/OFF programs. Each program can be set for specific days of the week.
6.1 Setting ON/OFF Programs:
- Press the PROG button once. The display will show "1 ON" and the time will flash. This is for the first ON time.
- Press WEEK repeatedly to select the desired day(s) for this program. Options include individual days, weekdays (MO TU WE TH FR), weekends (SA SU), or all days (MO TU WE TH FR SA SU).
- Press HOUR to set the desired hour for the ON time.
- Press MIN to set the desired minute for the ON time.
- Press PROG again. The display will show "1 OFF" and the time will flash. This is for the first OFF time.
- Repeat steps 2-4 to set the desired day(s), hour, and minute for the OFF time. Ensure the OFF time is set for the same day(s) as the ON time.
- To set additional programs (up to 8), press PROG again and repeat steps 1-6 for "2 ON", "2 OFF", and so on.
- After setting all desired programs, press the CLOCK button to exit programming mode and return to the current time display.
6.2 Clearing a Program:
If you need to clear a specific ON/OFF program:
- Press the PROG button repeatedly until the program number you wish to clear is displayed (e.g., "3 ON").
- Press the R button. The display will show "--:--", indicating the program has been cleared.
- Repeat for the corresponding OFF time (e.g., "3 OFF").
- Press CLOCK to exit.
6.3 Resetting All Settings:
To clear all programmed settings and reset the timer to its factory default state:
- Use a small pointed object (like a pen tip) to press the RESET button.
- The display will clear, and you will need to set the current time and reprogram any desired schedules.
7. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your timer.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the timer from the power source before cleaning. Wipe the unit with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord and the timer unit for any signs of damage, such as cuts, fraying, or cracks. If damage is found, discontinue use and replace the unit.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the timer in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
- Overload Protection: If the overload protection switch trips (the timer stops working), disconnect some devices, then press the reset button on the side of the unit to restore power.
8. Troubleshooting
