Important Safety Instructions

• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'off', then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
2. Clean Components: Wash the bean hopper, ground coffee container, and portafilter cradle with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before assembly. The main unit should be wiped with a damp cloth.
3. Assemble Hopper: Place the clean and dry bean hopper onto the top of the grinder unit. Ensure it is securely locked in place by twisting it until it clicks.
4. Insert Ground Coffee Container or Portafilter Cradle: Slide the ground coffee container into its designated slot beneath the grinding outlet. Alternatively, if grinding directly into a portafilter, attach the portafilter cradle.

5. Add Coffee Beans: Fill the bean hopper with whole coffee beans. Do not overfill beyond the MAX line.

6. Plug In: Connect the power cord to a suitable electrical outlet (120 Volts).

Operating Instructions

1. Adjusting Grind Settings

The grinder offers 35 precise grind settings, allowing customization for various brewing methods. Rotate the bean hopper to select the desired grind level.

• Settings 1-10: Fine grind, suitable for Espresso.
• Settings 11-25: Medium grind, ideal for Drip coffee makers and Pour Over.
• Settings 26-35: Coarse grind, recommended for French Press.

2. Selecting Grinding Amount

The grinder offers options for selecting the amount of coffee to grind:

• Cup Selection: Press the 'Cup' button to select the desired number of cups (1-14 cups). The grinder will automatically stop once the selected amount is reached. (1 cup ≈ 0.35 oz)
• Time Selection: Press the 'Time' button to set the grinding duration (1-60 seconds). The grinder will operate for the set time.
• Manual Grinding: Long press and hold the 'Start/Stop' button for continuous grinding. Release the button to stop.

3. Grinding Process

1. Ensure the bean hopper is filled and the ground coffee container or portafilter is in place.
2. Select your desired grind setting by rotating the bean hopper.
3. Choose your grinding amount using the 'Cup' or 'Time' buttons, or prepare for manual grinding.
4. Press the 'Start/Stop' button to begin grinding. The grinder will operate until the selected amount is reached, the time expires, or the button is released (for manual mode).
5. After grinding, remove the ground coffee container or portafilter.

Using the Portafilter Cradle

The Gevi grinder includes a portafilter cradle for direct grinding into your espresso machine's portafilter, compatible with 51mm portafilters.

1. Remove the ground coffee container.
2. Slide the portafilter cradle into the grinding outlet.
3. Place your 51mm portafilter securely into the cradle.

4. Proceed with grinding as described above.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Cleaning Steps

1. Unplug the Grinder: Always ensure the grinder is unplugged from the power outlet before cleaning.
2. Remove Bean Hopper: Twist and lift the bean hopper to remove it. Empty any remaining whole beans.
3. Remove Upper Burr: The upper burr is removable for easy cleaning. Follow the instructions in the included quick guide for specific removal steps.

4. Clean Components: Wash the bean hopper, ground coffee container, and portafilter cradle with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
5. Clean Burrs and Grinding Chamber: Use the provided cleaning brush to remove any coffee grounds from the upper and lower burrs, as well as the grinding chamber. A vacuum cleaner can also be used for stubborn grounds.
6. Wipe Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the grinder with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the main unit in water.
7. Reassemble: Once all parts are dry, reassemble the grinder by placing the upper burr back, then the bean hopper, and finally the ground coffee container or portafilter cradle.
