1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient use of your new Faber Nebula Black Matt Finish 4-Burner Gas Cooktop. Please read these instructions carefully before installation and operation, and keep them for future reference.

The Faber Nebula cooktop features a durable 8mm thick matt finish glass top, four brass burners (1 Jumbo, 2 Medium, 1 Small), MS-Diamond coated pan supports, and manual ignition with ABS knobs.

2. Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service, or maintenance can cause injury or property damage. Refer to this manual. For assistance or additional information, consult a qualified installer, service agency, or the gas supplier.

  • Ensure proper ventilation in the kitchen area during use.
  • Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
  • Keep children away from the cooktop during operation and while it is cooling down.
  • Always use appropriate cookware for the burner size.
  • Never leave the cooktop unattended while in use.
  • In case of a gas leak, immediately turn off the gas supply, open windows, and do not operate any electrical switches or appliances. Contact your gas supplier.

4. Installation Guide

Installation should only be performed by a qualified technician or authorized service personnel.

4.1 Unpacking

  • Carefully remove the cooktop from its packaging.
  • Inspect the appliance for any damage. Do not install if damaged.
  • Retain packaging materials for potential future transport or service.

4.2 Placement

  • Ensure the installation surface is flat, stable, and heat-resistant.
  • Maintain adequate clearance from adjacent walls and cabinets as per local regulations.

4.3 Gas Connection

  • Connect the cooktop to the gas supply (LPG or PNG) using a certified flexible hose or rigid pipe.
  • Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free. Use soapy water to check for leaks; bubbles indicate a leak.

4.4 Burner Assembly

  • Place the burner cups and crowns correctly onto their respective positions.
  • Position the MS-Diamond coated pan supports securely over the burners.

5. Operating Your Cooktop

5.1 Before First Use

  • Ensure all burners are correctly assembled and pan supports are in place.
  • Verify that the gas supply is open.

5.2 Manual Ignition

  1. Place your cookware on the pan support over the desired burner.
  2. Push down and turn the corresponding knob counter-clockwise to the 'ON' position.
  3. Immediately bring a lit matchstick or gas lighter to the burner to ignite the flame.
  4. Once ignited, adjust the flame intensity by turning the knob between the 'HIGH' and 'LOW' settings.
  5. To turn off the burner, turn the knob clockwise to the 'OFF' position.

Note: If the burner does not ignite within a few seconds, turn the knob to 'OFF', wait for a minute, and try again. Do not hold the knob in the 'ON' position for extended periods without ignition.

6. Care and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your cooktop.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Allow the cooktop to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the glass surface with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Clean spills immediately to prevent staining.

6.2 Burner and Pan Support Cleaning

  • Remove the pan supports, burner caps, and crowns.
  • Wash them with warm soapy water. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive scrub.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling them. Moisture can affect ignition.
  • Periodically clean the burner ports with a soft brush to prevent blockages.

6.3 General Care

  • Do not use the cooktop as a storage surface.
  • Avoid dropping heavy objects on the glass top.
